The fact of the matter is players can be managed when playing for their club side. In a trial they can get put on for 10 minutes, then taken off. For the all-stars they could end up playing a whole match at a higher intensity then they would in a trial. It's not ideal, but understandable what clubs are doing.

So the game is a good concept because it shows young aboriginals that there is more to life than alcohol and unemployment. Maybe some education rather than a football game could teach them this.

Rubbish game where the result is irrelevant cause no one cares.
Injury is more likely than not to one, two or maybe even more players tonight. And for what?

Clubs not wanting their players involved are the smart clubs.
I wish we weren't represented, then I could sit back, watch and hope they all go out there and bash each other, and that any Rabbit involved gets badly bashed.

This is education...having role models the indigenous youth can aspire to is a big part of it. And a week of educating and promoting healthy lifestyle and discipline culminating in a showcase game is good....blinkers off for a sec mate.

This game and the events leading up to it give happiness and value to many people who sometimes have very little inspire them and who may lack the creature comforts most of us take for granted. For those of you bagging the game and concept, think how you and your children would feel if you were in their shoes. These children who were guests at these events this week were made to feel like royalty and rightly so. I've been keeping up to date with the daily news items on Bigpond Sport on my T-Box and it's just what the NRL need after all the other allegations of this week.

Plus, footy is back for goodness sake! I love seeing a bunch of players who normally wouldn't all be together go round for a friendly game. That's what this game is about..friendship..not hate..not rivalry..how dare we have such a positive uplifting concept... Begrudging someone a little fun and enjoyment is just plain bewildering..If you don't like it, simply don't watch. whomever wins the Preston Campbell medal should be very proud tonight too. He's a role model for any man who has suffered depression and has chosen to turn his life around in a positive healthy way instead of going down the self pity path..
Origin is full of BS too...BS officiating...BS geographical boundaries...BS eligibility rules..yet you all jump up and down with excitement about that too..Guess what! Players get injured in Origin too...yet some of you don't object to this..

No, thank you for saying it! Every time I read it myself, I get the giggles. I'm so lucky to have come home in time for a season where no travel is involved for a 'home game'.

I was pumped when I first heard that the worlds angriest man was going to represent us... Looking forward to someone smacking Thaiday out.

Still, it is the footy, and a good excuse to have 30 beers.
