  • the joke that is the allstars game

just noticed that Billy Slater who apparently wasn't fit enough for the allstars game is currently playing for the Storm in a trial against Canberra.

if the players/clubs are not going to take the concept seriously it should be scrapped, nothing good is going to come from it, and like every year some club is going to face having a star player on the sidelines for an extended period, who got injured in a meaningless game when he wasn't even representing his own club.

I just hope its not SKD's turn to get injured tomorrow night.

Yes, the concept is flawed these days when we play against so many indiginous players during the year from the various clubs. Plus the timing is woeful, around about the time the clubs are getting ready to start playing their first lot of trials. Get rid of it, its not needed.

The game is bullshit but the week leading up is an awesome opportunity for the league to touch base with the kids. It's not often you get that many star players together and out in the community at the one time.
I think if the league are serious about this, Slater, Gallen and Watmough should never have been allowed to play in club trial games after pulling out of this game.

Wash your mouth out! He's the only reason I've been looking forward to this game all week. Watch him switch from rocks to diamonds under Wayne Bennett's coaching..and then switch back to rocks again because Freddy is assistant coach...

If SKD gets injured then that will screw us big time.

At the end of last year we should have all just voted for Nuuasala or Aubusson.

Can we pick a player who was with us from last year but not this year ? If so we could say Banasta was the stand out player from last year
            Comment of the year:

Andrew Johns, Semi-Final vs North Queensland ,

We should have given them Ben Jones!
I couldn't give a rats about this game.
My only interest is that SK gets out uninjured.

The game and concept is far from bullshit. It does good in promoting and acknowledging the importance of indigenous Australians in top level sport.

Clubs pulling their players out and not supporting it is the BS part.

Positivity it creates for the indigenous community/players aside, in a week where all this negative press has come to light, I for one am happy that we are the only sport with positive headlines on the back pages ATM-thanks to this "joke" of a game. The players have been spreading themselves through sth east qld promoting all things positive in Rugby League, and in tandem with the other initiatives clubs are doing its a very worthwhile and positive experience for THE GAME.

Inglis, Thurston, C Smith and Wayne Bennett, arguably the four most identifiable individuals in rugby league, don't mind the product either. I think I will view it from their side of the fence.

If nothing else me and 30,000+ other league fans and punters are going to enjoy the game tonight while all the 'poo pooers' vote with their tv.
