How punishing was that media conference from David Smith.

Basically said nothing. Just repated the words proactive, Crime Commission, ongoing process, transparent & due course.

Can't really blame him but his hands are tied at the moment, This has been terribly handled by the ACC and Government. He's only been in the job for not that long and he has deal with this shitstorm

                Which arvo would that be?

By the way, for those clubs that have pointed to the fact that there have been no positive drug test results among their players, there was an interesting line in one of SMH articles today. It said that drug testing is just one source of evidence for the ACC - they have clearly got evidence from phone tapping and other surveillance operations. That evidence, I suspect, will catch the bad guys.

This whole thing is complete bullshit!

The ACCC carpet bombs all sports, in particular NRL and AFL (which is where the real drug issue lies), with attention grabbing headlines and then follows that up with some of the lamest crap I have read. They are investigating the Cowboys regarding a player no longer there, same in Canberra. Manly have been cleared even though they were the ones injecting calfs blood. The sharks have stated none of their players have tested positive as have the Riff, meanwhile the ACCC have been deathly silent in announcing any concrete evidence against anyone for anything?

In the mean time no one knows whose done what or when of whether it was detected or wasn't, it's absolute bullshit! The media are in a perpetual 69er with themselves and yet not one accusation has emerged.

Dave Smith has been forced not to say anything due to confidentiality, but then there's nothing to be confidential about? If I was Smith and nothing comes of this debacle (which is what I expect), I would hold a presser and launch into the ACCC and the Ministers for their grandstanding and attenton seeking clap trap and sue the pricks for the loss of any sponsors as a result of this shit.

                  Chook.

This has the feel of the ACC have a funding (or pending) issue.
What better way to ensure continued $ than to bring themselves into the limelight?

I cannot see what they hope to achieve by this bullshit.

Yes, it is frustrating not having everything out in the open immediately, but there is every indication that heads will roll. Yesterday, a number of State sports ministers were briefed. Some that were previously very skeptical came out of that meeting saying that there was a significant problem.

I think this whole exercise is a bit like making a loud noise in a room filled with hiding rats. It was designed to cause some to start moving and to give themselves away.

I don't have a problem with the words 'crush' and 'Bellamy' in the same sentence but my thoughts are far from romantic! Did Shelley fetch you a beer for Valentine's Day?

I've just arrived back from holidays and one of my gentlemen friends gave me a special print from the National Portrait Gallery of Nick Cave, one of my favourite singers, as a surprise so he is in the good books.

I haven't been up to the Rose Bay North post office yet to check my PO box but I'm sure it's full of cards..or my Visa and DJ's accounts!
I'm with Shelly regarding chocolate. I'm yet to finish my Christmas chocolates and Easter eggs are on the shelves. Ok we are off topic which is not allowed and rightly so. It's very upsetting all these drug scandals are ruining the start of footy season for all codes. I have only myself to entertain but for those sports fans with impressionable children, it must be disappointing for them and goes against everything we learn about how wrong any sort of cheating is. We admire athletes for their sporting prowess but how much of it is now fake?
