Souths being Souths I still think they will find a way to lose if they get close to winning a premiership but it is ignorant to deny that they were one of the better teams in the competition last year. I don't see a lot of reason to think they will be much worse this year. They will be closer to the top of the table than the bottom. If we beat them we should consider it a strong win, not our natural right as their "big brother".

It's that old heritage thing which has been passed down from generation to generation. Back in the olden days, they and St George had the monopoly on the competition so they had, and still do, many followers. Russell Crowe openly admits he followed them as a child to annoy his father and brother who followed St George. My Dad was born in Lebanon but came to Australia as a child and went to QLD to settle with my grandparents. A lot of Lebanese migrants settled in the Redfern area in the early 1920's and there is a Lebanese church there also. The red, green and white colours are also the same as the Lebanese flag with the cedars and that is why so many of my cousins follow Souths. One of them is even a board member now. Ray, they are just so passionate about their club and as much as they annoy me when we talk footy and it amuses me no end when they get all steamed up about us, they just love their footy. If you take away Souths, you take away our oldest rival, and how boring would round one be without our toothless little neighbours? Just think of them as Jan Brady and we are Marcia...

I don't think there morals to make the 4. I think there ordinary in the centres and 1 wing spot. I also believe that if there forwards don't fire they really only have Inglis to dig them out of a hole. The loss of Taylor is huge. Teo is a completely different player style wise. But I still think we will seriously dampen there spirits in round 1.

I dont know what it is when we play Souffs they just seem to lift when they play us....... you know when NSW V QLD play that sort of thing you are never completely happy until the siren sounds and you win? because like QLD they have a habit of comimg back when you think they are gone...... but in sayng that after leaving Gosford on Sat night and seeing our defence we are good things come RD 1.
