  • Did anyone else notice?

I was watching the Charity Shield on Friday and in regards to South's second Try. Inglis puts in a chip kick with Beau Champion in front of him as Inglis did run into him. However, Everingham taps it back and Champion gets it an scores a Try in which it was allowed.

The reason I am saying something is that in the Grand Final Last Year, Cronk puts a kick up with Bryan Norrie offside in front of him in which Slater taps the ball back into the arms of Norrie in which he scores. It goes to the Video Referee and they give it a Red Light because Norrie was offside from when the kick was taken.

Two exact circumstances with different outcomes, which one is right????

Reason I raise this is that South's will look to try this play over and over again on that left side cause Champion will be too slow and weak to keep up with Jennings and Everingham won't be able to climb as high as Tupou so which ruling is right????

I know we finally got our discipline right as Hargreaves was only penalised once in which that occured in the 74th minute as those Referee's were only blowing late ones to even the count out but by then the game was truly out of reach for the Tigers.

Beau Champion's should've been NO TRY.

It was a pretty bad miss from the referees and touchies - Champion was offside and never played onside. The only guy who could've played him onside was Inglis. Doesn't matter that his teammate touched the ball, that can't play him on.

Can't say I saw the incident here Nathan but from your description, Waerea-Beast! is correct - NO TRY.

Did anyone also notice that Inglis is a MASSIVE unit. He is pretty awesome. The whole $ouffs side looked massive. They are a scary looking side. We will have to be very clever to beat them as we are not as big. It will have to be a great tactical game from us. Looking forward to round 1 so much now. Pearce and Maloney with some great cut out passes to Boyd and Aidan should do the trick.

Cant remember the Slater Norrie try but you are 100% about the Champion try. He was in front of Inglis when he kicked it.
I dont know if there has been a rule change or they simply missed it.
