    Agreed...

Not the Dogs... they play boring footy. Just a bunch of big rough guys with a big rough crowd supporting them. They don't play creative or exciting footy... team of Willie Mason's. El Masri seems pretty accurate with the boot this season, so looks like he'll go out with a good legacy. But just a bunch of big, thick biffo's who test the rules to the max... seem to do a LOT of moves where they go for the man rather than the ball + I never hear a whistle. They also slow down the game a lot... I notice their big many holding people for too long after tackles + pushing people unnecessarily... just generally biffing everybody up in ways that slow down the game and give them control, which they rarely get pulled up for. Or... like last season... they get murdered for, and lose every game because of it. In the finals the refs will be watching them + will be assertive enough to go "look boys you don't rule the field... I'm gonna be blowing the whistle all night + penalising you if you don't calm down..." so i don't see a big future with the dogs...
    [no chance I'll support them]

Dragons... have been lucky all season and surprise, surprise are just starting to choke at the right time. I couldn't hold back the lulz last weekend as I watched them being annihilated by a makeshift team of rabbits (minus pretty well all their big name players...)
[I'll only support them if it's down to Dragons vs. Dogs]

Titans... new team, 1st shot at the premiership. I have no beef with them, and they're playing decent, fast, creative, positive footy.
    [Yeah... give them a shot!]

Storm... have Inglis back on-side... no chance I'll be supporting a yobbo wife-beater.
[Hope they suffer and burn in the finals!]

Sea Eagles... silvertails... have choked majorly this season after a joke premiership that they didn't even have to work for. Always strong, but I love to hate them.
[I like their footy + respect them as a team, but will never wave a flag for Manly]

Broncos... can go back the Brisbane.
    [no chance...]

Eels... look they've come from rags to riches this season! They've smashed some respectable teams, and secured an unlikely spot in the finals. Yeah... good on them!
    [sure why not]

Knights... losing Smith seemed to be the turning point of their season. They're pretty directionless right now and I can't see them going too far. That said, I've got nothing against them (they even gave us a win this season!)
    [maybe if I have to...]

    ---

So... Titans or Eels if I have to support somebody. That said, I only like the Roosters.

As to the matter at hand:

I would not be sorry too much with any of the Titans, Dogs, or Eels, with some caveats.

The Eels play exciting football ATM, but no-one's ever won from 7 or 8, at least in recent years. I suppose as long as they can win the first week, it's all bets off but even if they do, they are guaranteed 3 weeks of finals before the GF, they will have to really, really smoke it. They are the dark horse, I expect some upsets (big scalps) from them and I expect they can make it to the last 4, but I would be very surprised if they make it past the last 4 into the GF.

The Dogs ... they are the Dogs and I'm supposed to hate their guts, especially for 04 ... but they do play tough footy and have been reborn this year. Apart from the whole us-versus-the-Dogs business, the other thing that makes me hesitant is that if they win they'll have had two premierships in the last five years, where we could only manage one from four in the first half of the decade.

That leaves the Titans. Unfortunately it also leaves the Queerslanders up here blathering (more like drooling) Titans Titans Titans, they are ****en retarded cow-rooters up here, they have no idea if they are a Broncos fan they are supposed to HATE WITH A DEEP PASSION these blow-ins from the disease-infested swamp called Robina (****en cashed-up-bogan-V8-ute paradise it should have been called, that place). Hey Queenslanders. There is nothing special about this place - everything that you claim is special about this shithole is true of just about anywhere else in Australia and NSW and even VIC have more kilometers of surf beaches than you have up here - Brisbane is a 100 klicks from the surf, **** it - and the beaches you DO have are mostly the dullest type of shitty dumping beach break on crappy unstable sand bars. It does NOT measure up to any of the Sydney breaks let alone the rest of the coast. And the best breaks on the Gold Coast? Over the ****en border in NSW !!! **** QLD. Also you are not the Rugby League capital as you're interest is only in QLD rugby league teams, not rugby league in general, so just **** off.

I suppose one should never ever discount Brisbane but **** I can't stand them they are beyond the pale and also, a protected species, when after all wild horses aren't native and are supposed to be shot. From helicopters.

As for the rest: Manly are scum, Melbourne are pretenders, and St Gillawarra? Chokers. God I hope of everything, Gillawarra are gone by the end of the finals week two.

However, apart from the whole Queenslander thing, I did go with some friends to Tits vs Vermin game, wore my Easts jersey and gave a gobful to some fat illiterate vermin supporters in front of me, who being under 40 had of course no memory of their team ever winning a Grand Final ever despite their hollow boasts. And it was ****en good seeing them well beaten. Behind us was sitting some small kid relatives of "Uncle Presto" and they were hilariously enthusiastic, it was a great evening out, so I guess on those sentimental grounds I'm backing the Tits.
The only chance of me cheering for a team in the finals is through a massive salary cap breach from the top 8 teams in the comp, with the roosters sneaking into 8th position. You never know!!

There are two teams I loathe and that's the Dragons and Eels.
But seeing I got on the Eels at 40/1, the small head rules again. Carn the Eels.

Ben Cummins, I'd love to see him in a grand final... hopefully the fall out would ensure that he'd never ref again.

Parramatta or the Titans, cannot stand the rest of them.
I did like the style of football Saints were playing earlier in the season but that has crashed and burned of late.

                        What a quandary!!

My brother and his wife, my sister, niece and son in law are avid Parra fans, so I's like to see them happy. Also 3 of my kids, and most of my nephews, nieces , friends, neighbours are Dogs fans, and it'll be nice to see Hazem go out with another premiership.
Penrith, my original landing point in Australia 35 years ago, will always have a spot in heart, and they are everyone's second favourite team, and Pritchards is close mate with my son in law, so they'll be my pick ( if they beat Newcastle next week).
The Titans will be my last option as I like Prince, Campbell, mini Mini, Ash Harrison, and the man who played a major role in our "02 win , Cartwright.

I will pray 5 times a day, every day, so that Saints, Manly, Melbourne Newcastle and Brisbane don't end up winning it, it'll make a dismal year worse.

The Tigers can't make the top 8 even though they are only 2 points out of the 8.
Newcastle are on 28 pts,Penrith on 27pts and the Tigers on 26 pts but Newcastle play Penrith in the last round so it is impossible for the Tigers to sneak in.
