Yeah a big blob of liquid paper, and then scrawl "The Warren".

When Ch9 do a Souffs game, Ray Warren has such a big ego he'll think its a bay for his fans !

The South Sydney Rabbitohs are pleased to announce a new corporate partnership with Betezy.com.au today. The Rabbitohs join the Gold Coast Titans, Cronulla Sharks and Newcastle Knights as NRL Clubs entering into a joint venture with Betezy.com.au.

The NRL has approved the agreement between the Rabbitohs and Betezy.com.au, allowing Bunnybet.com.au to be launched today. Bunnybet.com.au will offer fans the full range of sports and racing with guaranteed better odds via online 24/7 or telephone.

The Rabbitohs now join six other NRL Clubs including the Brisbane Broncos, Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles, Wests Tigers, along with the Titans, Knights and Sharks, who have already entered into sponsorship agreements with sports betting agencies.

The Rabbitohs will receive a guaranteed six-figure sponsorship plus advertising based commissions based on turnover which will help generate revenues for the Football Club. The Rabbitohs, like all professional sporting organisations across the country, are searching for new revenue streams which will enable the Club to continue to operate at the highest level.

“We’re delighted to be able to announce a new partnership with Betezy today,” Rabbitohs CEO Shane Richardson said.

“NRL Clubs are trying to bring new revenues into the game, and we feel that sports betting is going to be an increasing source of funding in Rugby League over the coming years.

“We were approached by a number of sports betting agencies and we decided that Betezy was the best option for us to go with.

“We’ve not entered into this partnership lightly. We consulted our Members on this issue by sending them a Members First video over three weeks ago, explaining our options on sports betting, and the response we received was over 90% in support of moving ahead with a sponsorship agreement.

“We’ve been in consultation with the NRL to ensure we meet their policies regarding sponsorship and sports betting, and they have given us the green light to move ahead.

“We’ve said that to be able to control the affects of sports betting on Rugby League and our Club, then we need to be part of it, and that’s what we are doing by entering this agreement with Betezy to create Bunnybet.com.au.

“We’re very pleased with the arrangement we have with Betezy, the NRL has approved the agreement, and we look forward to developing a beneficial relationship via Bunnybet.com.au.”

Betezy’s General Manager Ryan Kay said, “The huge success of the TitansBet.com.au venture has demonstrated that all Clubs can achieve a major income stream from sports betting.”

“We are extremely happy to announce the launch of Bunnybet.com.au today. The Rabbitohs have very loyal fans, who by moving their betting turnover to their Club’s betting site can help ensure the success of their club.

“Fans will be able to be bet online or by phone in a very personal service where they are no longer treated like a number.

Kay also stressed that maintaining the integrity of Rugby League would be a major priority.

"We will be continually looking at integrity issues. We will be working with the NRL and the sporting bodies to make certain there is always integrity in the sport,'' said Kay.

"One thing we are very resolute about is making sure there are never any illegal gambling activities in the sport and we will work with everyone involved to ensure this is achieved.”

Smears aimed at Souths blog, court told
                        Bellinda Kontominas | February 21, 2009

The businessman Peter Holmes a Court has been accused of orchestrating an internet dirt campaign to discredit those speaking out against his proposed takeover of the South Sydney Rugby League club, a court has heard.

Mr Holmes a Court is being sued for defamation in the NSW Supreme Court by Tony Papaconstuntinos, a prominent member of the group who opposed his 2006 takeover of Souths with the actor Russell Crowe.

Mr Papaconstuntinos, a senior official of the Construction, Forestry, Mining and Electricity Union, has alleged Mr Holmes a Court defamed him in a letter written to his boss, claiming he had benefited from football club funds through the overpayment of his son, Jamie Papa, for assistant coaching duties.

Counsel representing Mr Papaconstuntinos, Rodney Weaver, accused Mr Holmes a Court of encouraging Wade Singleton, the administrator of a blog on the Rabbitohs official fan website, and a blogger who went by the nickname of "The Botak", to engage in an internet campaign to damage opponents of the takeover bid.

In a surprise move, counsel representing Mr Papaconstuntinos, Rodney Weaver, told the court he wished to present further evidence that Mr Holmes a Court had been motivated by malice when he wrote the letter to Mr Papaconstuntinos's boss on March 17, 2006. He told the court the evidence related to phone conversations between Mr Holmes a Court and "The Botak", revealed to be Souths supporter Graeme Tunks, in early 2006.

The court heard that in one alleged conversation they spoke about the $60,000 salary being paid to Jamie Papa through sponsorship by building and construction companies.

Mr Holmes a Court allegedly told Mr Tunks: "We need to use this somehow," or words to that effect, Mr Weaver told the court.

"Use it closer to the vote, the information will have more effect," Mr Tunks allegedly replied.

In another alleged conversation, Mr Tunks told Mr Holmes a Court there was "mileage to be gained" by informing those connected to Mr Papaconstuntinos about the allegations.

Justice Lucy McCallum adjourned the matter until April to allow lawyers for Mr Holmes a Court to investigate the allegations.
