Not the first time he leads with the slipper in a defensive way...very dangerous.
Needs a good holiday and wake up call from the judiciary.

Slater has tried this before ,this time he got the result he wanted. Another grubby tactc, from that grubby club. Along with wrestling, the crusher and chicken wing tackles, the leg slide and hamstring chop. They claim to be innovators of the game but have brought nothing good for the game. Well done match review commitee dangerous prcedent set now. As for Gould and Warren they are punch drunk commentators with very weird opinions at times.

I didn't' see anything wrong with that. For one, that's how he jumps, it gives more stability in the air. Secondly, If you watch Slater on the replay from the moment the ball is put up, he only has eyes for the ball. And thirdly, Klemmer shouldn't have been that close with his arms out to make a tackle while Slater was in the air.
If you watch the whole thing carefully you'll see Klemmer really ran into Slater's foot, there was no kick at all, all the force came from Klemmers run.
Edit: Just announced, Slater is cleared of the charge, which is the right decision.Last edited by justjuice1992; 03-22-2013, 12:55 PM.

To be real honest... I find no problem with it.
He has been catching high kicks like that for years and he doesn't know that Klemmer is there until he touches his foot on the way down.
One question I ask is if it was Ben Barba would there be such a stink about it? Dogs Supporters are calling Slater a thug and say that he has been a thug for many years. To me, each player is different in the Fullbacks. I am very sure Minichiello, Inglis, Boyd, Slater, Bowen and Hayne have different techniques in that type of play so why is this such an issue.
The real issue for me is that the referee's blew the original penalty which was right but then broke the rule that the Video Referee looked at it and overturned the decision when it was agreed in the Off Season that they weren't allowed to that anymore. Furthermore, by that time the Dogs didn't look like they were getting back into that game in which tht did turn the game as they scored and then Melbourne has on certain try disallowed and then thats where it was destroyed....
No issue, a joke of a over rulling and report...

Whether or not it was deliberate remains irrelevant imo. The fact his foot was there, in the direction of the opposition is dangerous. I'm sure Inglis did'nt deliberately shoulder charge Dean Young in the face or that players in general don't deliberately tackle others beyond the horizontal.
Fact of the matter is, there is a long long list of 'accidental' incidents when it comes to Slater. You have to ask yourself when these incidents STOP being accidents.

Is anyone capable of putting up some kicks whereby the chasers can get there in time and compete with him?
I have a feeling this is just another case of Slater becoming a protected species.
My opinion of Cam Smith has changed dramatically over the last few weeks with the amount of whinging hes been doing too.
