I don't know about anyone else, but I'm not a fan of this 'banner' advertising across my screen for ANYTHING whilst I'm trying to watch my shows, especially footy. I'm not interested in the latest singing/dancing/cooking/renovation show so please do not ram it down my throat. I also can't stand how The Sunday Footy Show/Roast has viewers tweets popping up on screen as well. I don't have a problem with him getting on reading out the odds in a little 1-2 min segment before the game and a 30 sec update at half time. That's all Munsie and Jamie Rodgers did. Short sweet and to the point. It's the saturation of his slimmy mug on during every add break that gives me the shits.
I do punt but it doesn't make me want to punt anymore or even with his company.

Live betting odds are set to be banned during sports broadcasts after the industry's peak body, Free TV Australia, said it would draft a new code of practice.
In a move that would restrict the ability of bookmakers like Tom Waterhouse to promote odds during matches, the new code aims to bans commentators and guests from promoting live betting odds during play and for 30 minutes before and after play.
It was designed to "reduce and control the promotion of live odds during the broadcast of live sporting events", FreeTV said in a statement this morning.
However, the code does not restrict promotion of live odds for other sports events that occur at the same time, such as interstate matches, and allows live odds to be advertised during breaks.
Commercial radio has already drafted a new code that is awaiting approval, and subscription television is expected to released a draft code shortly.
According to Free TV's draft code, which is open to public comment until May 20, the ban does not cover live horse, harness and greyhound racing.
It also does not cover any contracts signed before May 27, 2011, or material that is incidental to coverage, such as advertising around on barriers around a field.
Further, live odds can be advertised in commercials during scheduled breaks, such a tea breaks in cricket, half time in rugby matches and breaks between each quarter of an AFL match.
Live odds can also be advertised if play has been suspended for rain or if players ‘‘are yet to enter the field or area of play’’.
However, commentators cannot promote live odds at all during play, or scheduled breaks, or 30 minutes before and after play starts.
The proposed code also bans the promotion of live odds that are directed towards children, that portray ‘‘betting as a family activity’’, that promote betting on live odds ‘‘as a way to success or achievement’’ or that associate betting on live odds with alcohol.
And all promotions for live odds must conclude with a responsible gambling message.
"The proposed amendments to the code reflect an agreement reached between the government and commercial radio, commercial television and subscription broadcasters to reduce and control the promotion of live odds during the broadcast of sporting events," FreeTV stated.
The new TV code will see advertisers such as SportsBet, BetFair and CentreBet banned from advertising live odds during games, or doing "live crosses" to bookmakers, but would still allow them to advertise during breaks.
Chief executive of Commercial Radio Australia, Joan Warner, said it released a new draft code in December that is currently waiting for approval by the the Australian Communications and Media Authority.
"The new code bans commentators and guests from promoting live betting odds during play and for 30 minutes before and after events. The draft code was developed following the decision of the Council of Australian Governments’ Select Council on gambling reform to take action to reduce and control the promotion of live odds in sports broadcasts," Ms Warner said.
The federal government started negotiating these changes several years ago.
"The Gillard government understands that the promotion of live odds during sports broadcasts can contribute to the encouragement of gambling, particularly amongst vulnerable people including children," Communications Minister Stephen Conroy said last June.
In fact, the government has been trying to get the new codes introduced since May 2011, when all state governments agreed to work towards a ban. Senator Conroy initially gave broadcasters a June 2012 deadline to change the self-regulatory code. It is unclear why that deadline was allowed to lapse.

Negotiations for bookmaker Tom Waterhouse to become an official sponsor of the National Rugby League (NRL) have broken down, with both parties walking away from the proposed deal.
"We failed to reach agreement around terms with Tom Waterhouse," the NRL's general manager for strategy, Shane Mattiske, has told the ABC's Four Corners program in an interview to be broadcast tonight.
Media reports earlier this year widely speculated the NRL had clinched a deal with Waterhouse after the high-profile bookmaker became a key advertiser for Channel 9's NRL coverage.
The combined NRL-Channel 9 deal was reportedly costing Waterhouse $50 million over five years.
But the NRL never concluded its deal with Waterhouse despite him emerging as the preferred bidder to become an official sponsor.

All this betting on sport is getting ridiculous. I little bit is fine but when it ends up all revolving around the gambling then the sport gets ruined. I know alot of you love your horses, but its such a corrupt business and exists to take money off the masses end of story.
I can't stand little Tommy or mummy but its not limited to him.
Every time I hear the waterhouse name I remember the Roy and HG show, this was a time when good old Robbie waterhouse was banned from race courses. They showed some footage of a melbourne cup and some goose was running around in a bear suit.
Roy and HG commented saying it was actually Robbie and thats the only way he gets to see his wife.

I like the Waterhouse family. Gai's a champion, Robbie's a very interesting and erudite bloke and, of course Big Bill is just a legend of the turf. Tom, I can take or leave; everyone knows Robbie is the brains behind that operation.
There probably is too much gambling infiltrating sports broadcasting.
