  • Crocker dropped at 12th hour!

Can't believe McGuire is dropping players left right and center, Merritt Asotasi and Crocker. I'm almost impressed.

Crocker has been quite poor for a while now, as a player I definitely think he's deteriorated.

Mcguire's made some really brave calls of late and they've been the right ones imo.

Being one of the 5 captains didn't save Crocker.... *cough*

Maybe it's the Maguire version of the Aust Cricket Team's rotation policy ?

I hate to say it but Souths appear to be the real deal, their forwards toyed with the Dogs yesterday and their game plan was clinical almost Melbourne like. And Reynolds, four repeat sets with two leading to tries.

Crocker is actually their stand alone captain this year.

He was dropped and they won probably their biggest game in many years,

Dogs are still a shadow of themselves from last year.

Iam sure I read here dropping a Captain would be bad for team morale

The Dogs were pretty average yesterday, and I don't reckon Souths were that good.

There is no reason why we won't compete wiith these teams when we are fully wound up.

Melb, Souths, and Canterbury to a certain extent are showing us how far off the pace we are in attack, and ball security, and repeat sets, but time is on our side, but plenty of work to do yet, a bottom 8 side at best at the moment.

I agree that wasn't a high quality game yesterday. Very dour both teams very conservative.

The Dogs have been crap this year but they will come good. Hasler teams are traditional slow starters and they have been missing their best players.

You always need luck on your side but if we can stay fit I think we can give it a shake in September.

                          RWB....please note;
This isn't Roosters related - please determine the appropriate category and then post into it.
In this case RUGBY LEAGUE DISCUSSION would have been the go. I will redirect.
                          Cheers

He's been rubbish for years yet I'd still take him any day at lock over Frank Paul "don't give me the ball".

Cmon Vasco u can't be serious. Dogs and manly are the 2 toughest teams in this comp, prob coz hasler has had an influence on both. Dogs did not play bad, they just lost their way a bit without Ennis, and were beat by the 2nd or 3rd best playing team in the comp. South's are the real deal.

I rate Melbourne as the best atm. But u put Souths roster up against the Storm. Imo the Souths roster is stronger. The difference is that the Storms big 3 makes up for this, as well as their composure and discipline. That's where they get the nod. Norrie & Rules as props? They do a job and then rely on the big 3.

South's season rests on 1 guy, coz u know that Inglis and Burgess are going to be great all year. Adam Reynolds. If he can match Cronk with his kicking game and composure, then Souths are just as much a chance as anyone.

Now no doubt some will tell me to go support Souths. No thanks, I love my Chooks. But I am also a realist and make my comments without bias.

The prob Robbo has is that he has had nowhere near as long as the other coaches to instil discipline and composure in our team. But if he can do that (and that includes improving Pearces 5th tackle options) then there is no reason why we can't win a premiership this year.
