  • thursday night vs friday night footy

    Which is bettter?

I resent thursday night footy because i have a personal rule of no mid week drinking.

However, 2 games on friday night means i am totally blind for the 2nd game. Dilemmas?

In this day and age there should be no delayed games.

Nine either need to play both games live (they have 4 channels to use) or Thursday night footy needs to become a permanent fixture and we only have 1 Friday match.

Exactly... The Sunday arvo delay is also a killer

The delayed Sunday game is the worst game to have in my opinion. Also I am a fan of the Thursday game except if the roosters are playing as I live in Canberra I can't go to the game. I will however be at the roosters bulldogs game next Friday and this Sunday at the raiders game. Go the chooks

I like Thursday night footy 100 times more than two games on a Friday. That's for sure.

Love to see the Saturday arvo game at 2.00 come back.
            Warren Boland commentating too.
            Those were the days.
Not a fan of Thursday night footy and not a fan of 2 games on Friday either. I suppose it would be good if the second game wasn't Bronco's v someone every week. I get sick of watching the same teams play every Friday night. In 2010 it was the goons, last year I think it was the dogs.
I think 2 games would work on a Friday if there was more variety

Thursday night needs to. A 7pm kick off, same as Monday if it is to work.
              Red, White and Bluesters!!!

i am sorry to say but Thursday night is Rubbish and i only feel slightly better about Monday night. i am with Rooboy Saturday afternoon is a preferred extra slot.

will mess with the value of memberships and crowds if too many Thursday Monday night games in a season. its a 7 hour round trip for me and i start work at 7:00am. Can't go to Canberra on a Sunday evening because of this - why not when fans are traveling away are these games not a Saturday afternoon? they need to balance the its all about TV end of it or do we still want to go to games like this year where we are having crowds of about 20,000 and beyond.

because iu manage a local rugby club i go to their games on saturdays so id prefer any other day the exception being that i play golden oldies rugby every second sunday and i hate missing roosters games, its a quandry!

Monday night games are Pay TVs highest rating games each week. What else is better on a Monday night than watching a game of footy???

It's all about TV ratings not crowds, that's why we are getting the Billion bucks.

Besides Sat arvo games were abandoned cos they don't draw crowds or rate on TV. Too many people working, socializing or involved in kids sports etc.

I actually like the Sun night timeslot personally. I hate 2 Friday night games, would rather Thur, Fri, 2 Sat, 3 Sun, Mon. Set down the whole season in advance, as they've done basically this season, that way everyone can plan their time around games.

What I hate is when inconsiderate carnts plan weddings when my teams playing. How dare they.

I'm actually off to a wedding today, Golden Farkin Slipper Day!!!
Last year I was at one on Cox Plate day. Luckily during the boring part of the ceremony when they sign the papers ever bloke ran back into the bar to watch the race. It was a funny sight to see. Then the groom grabbed the microphone off the celebrant just before he began to finish off the service and asked who won the race. The look on the brides face was a sight to see, was not impressed at all

                            LOL, Gold.

I hate how brides always pick GF day, the long weekend for their weddings.

LOL, mate your posts were getting really loose.

I liked it. Nothing beats posting while pissed then waking up the next day to see how many carnts you've offended.

Not that I've ever done anything like that.
