In a bad team, how good is he going. He is playing smart but tough tough football. It's travesty that Gidley got in over him. I understand versatility totally but out of any player in the NRL comp he is most deserving of an Aussie jersey.

Will make very bold prediction and say NSW will win origin on a man of series performance from him.

He is Lebanese, not a good look , the old fuddy duddies wont like it, Giddley is farken hopeless, offers nothing to any team except someone who just do the normal things right, I dont see the big deal with Gidley, he can pass a ball, big deal!

Could you please explain yourself? We've had another Australian hooker of Lebanese heritage before..way back in the 80's..what does race have to do with it?

Anthony Mundine is actually moonlighting as the chookpens very own Alex. Because Mundine is the only one capable of a statement like that.

Having played a big part in having your NRL coached sacked who also coaches Australia might have something to do with it.

Very possible Mickey. Without getting into any conspiracy theories though it's a joke.

I think you can seriously pick holes in the whole 'Gidley brings more versatility' to the team thing as well since they have Luke Lewis on the bench. I strongly believe Lewis would be a much better centre option than Gidley, so ith that in mind.....

Fullback goes down you put Inglis there and Luke Lewis to centre.
Wing goes down same thing with J Morris to wing.
                  Centre goes down-Luke Lewis.
Half or 5/8 goes down-C Smith to 5/8, Farah hooker
Farah to hooker if Smith down.

                  The rest is elementary...

I see no other reason for his omissions, Gidley is a joke

I rate Gidley as a utility off the bench, he provided NSW with some pretty good impact off the bench in 2011... quickly forgotten.

People will be reminded of this in the upcoming origin series imo, pretty underrated player these days.

Farah doesn't get picked because Smith is an 80 minute hooker and deserves that position.

                        He's better than Farah.
When he came on in Origin whatever in 2011 & played dummyhalf I can remember thinking, what a sensation.

IMO Newcastle can challenge for the comp with Gidley fit & playing at dummyhalf. Gidley Roberts Mullen & Boyd is a very good spine.

Are you comparing 2011 Gidley with 2013 Gidley? They're two different players. In two different form lines.
