Not a bad side, pretty close to what the selectors will pick I reckon.

Watmough is the interesting one for me, in the past he's always played in the middle third for NSW and does so at club level for Manly too. In fact it's been years since he's actually played on the fringes at any level. I assume you've picked him as a replacement for Lewis or Bird but I think you're better off picking a specialist fringe player, there's quite a difference these days.

Either that or pick Watmough as your 4th middle third play instead of Woods/Fifita and shift Gallen to prop when Watmough comes on at lock.

Not a big fan of Uate either tbh, his defence is woeful. Anyone who watched the Canberra game can testify to how poor he was under the high ball, not state of origin material imo.

Watmough is perfect for origin. Always excels. Fringe or not he has to be there. Fringe forwards are alot less valuable in origin then a hard man who does work. Though effective at the line. There is too many gun backline guns in origin to need them.

NSW NEEDS players that have proven themselves in origin. A quality hard man in origin are few and far between. On that rule Merrin should be out before Watmough. Though i picked him, based on his awesome club footy, he has not at all proven himself in origin.

QLD are actually the ones feeling the pressure up front now. They have Scott and Shillo up front thats it. The only two other options are Kennedy and Mcguire. If anything we need more hard men. Drive there forwards into the ground. Scott and Shillo will have to do big minutes.
