    Finals Week One: Freddy's forecast
Brad Fittler for BigPond Sport and NRL.com Thu, 10 Sep 2009 16:01:00
This season of rugby league will be remembered for two things; off field drama and the demise of the McIntyre System.

Given the results and the happenings over the last two weeks - namely St George’s 37 point romping of the in-form Eels and the facial injury to Brett Kimmorley - I believe the 3rd and 4th position teams (Gold Coast and Melbourne) have become as vulnerable as an NRL coach.

Melbourne Storm v Manly Sea Eagles

A repeat of last year’s grand final sees the Sea Eagles come off a terrific result last weekend.

This week they’ll venture down to the sporting capital of the world to take on the might of Melbourne. Not at Olympic Park – which has been the graveyard for so many sides over the last three years – but at Docklands.

Financial incentives have convinced Storm management to head across the road and sacrifice their greatest weapon… but did Manly’s Round 24 20-16 win at Olympic Park have anything to do with the change?

Maybe not - but I reckon if there’s ten minutes to go and the scores are locked… the Storm will be wishing they could take it back across the road!

Watching the style in which Manly ran through and over the Titans has given me confidence they can do it again to Melbourne. The Storm aren’t known for their big men and I’m not sure they can wrestle a win at Docklands.

    Manly to win by 12.

Even the best can't pick them.
