Believe it or not James Tamou is the quickest over 40 metres at the cowboys, faster than Matt bowen who himself has got good acceleration. He even caught Benji Marshal.

I think SBW was the fastest at the Bulldogs over 40m in 2005.

Didn't anyone see Shaun Johnson run our speedster down on Sunday night? He'd have to be in the top handful of fast guys in the NRL!

Definitely Kevin Gordon & Jarryd Hayne prior to their injuries & before both bulking up. I'd have to say now for the 100m, out of Uate, Koroibete, Kevin Naiqama, Mead, Fisiiahi, Locke, Justin O'Neill, Brett Morris, James Roberts. Over the shorter distance, Jennings, Soward, Slater & Barba

Another quick prop is Brenton Lawrence. He's run down a few speedsters, including RTS.

David Mead is the fastest but I have a strong suspicion if our own Toups seen daylight no one would catch him.

I thought I start a thread on the topic of who is the quickest in the NRL

I thought I have a few categories in so please tell me your thoughts as I am interested to know what you think (as I dont have foxtel anymore I dont get to see as many games)

                  - Over 100 metres.......my pick Koriebeate followed by the Fish

                  - Over 60 metres........my pick David Mead or K Gordon

                  - Over 10-40 metres.........my pick Jennings or Mead

And who is just 'football fast on the field' (eg Slater might not be in the quickest in a sprint anymore but his anticipation and the way he reads the game makes him 'football fast')...my football fast player now is Benny Barba.
hard to pick mate Jennings was caught after a mountain of defence, takes all the petrol out of the legs!!! If you look at the match stats you will see Jennings did a lot more work in all areas attack and defence.

In the fairdinkum dept, James Roberts from Penrith, would be the fastest over all distances, in the comp, Rose would get beaten by his shadow, over 20.

You are absolutely right JFC...his chase to run down Moylan towards the end of the first half last night was epic. He would be in the 100 metre final for NRL speedsters for sure........poor lil Moylan was taking 2 strides for Toops 1.

Also have a look at the try Jennings scored against Manly when he ran the length of the field .....Toops just motored up beside him and looked to be going in second gear !

It helps that he has a 15 mtr stride.
                            Geez those legs are long

Shane Whereat was one of the quickest I've seen.

Too bad he was useless at everything else...
