Use of video ref and Colonel Sanders Head

Here's another conspiracy for you. I know some of you love this kind of thing.

Every time there's a video ref referral we get to see the Colonel while we wait for the decision to "download" (what a crock - does the try or no try button signal travel via Pluto before reaching the screen?)

We frequently see obvious decisions, over tries scored (or not) right in front of the on field ref.

Yet there is a video ref referral.

What is the deal with KFC? Does the NRL get paid per video ref referral (and viewing of the KFC icon)?

I am guessing yes.
