I remember Fitzy saying in the media that the reason why the Roosters chose to sign Pearce over Soward was for the simple fact that under pressure, he couldn't deliver. I guess he was right.

This season I think he showed he can TBH... he kept trying even when the team was royally ****ED! Down 50-0 every week, and even in the last 5 minutes you'd see him going for intercepts, hustling the opposition and keeping them 1/2 honest.

Now imagine that heart when the team's actually winning... that's my take at least...

Saints had it there to be won. They have the best pack in the comp. Fast outside backs. It is clear in the big games they struggled to score points. Their halves lack any creativity or ability in the opposition 20 metres. If they had decent halves they would of won the comp.

These Pearce vs Soward debates are pretty gay if you ask me (not that there is anything wrong with that ). Fair dinkum, you guys realise that Soward is a 5/8 and Pearce is a half dont you ? They have completely different roles within the team. If you want to compare Soward to anyone, compare him to Carney next year.

For the record, i agree with Melon completely in that Pearce has heaps of ticker and suits our future team down to the ground. I seriously cant wait for next year. Our team will be well coached for the first time since Gould left. All our other coaches have been rookies (except for Ando who was more of a disaster lol). I have high hopes for the future, and I bet Smith is as excited as hell to have a player list like ours to work on and develop.
