  • Noyce = Sharks CEO

    http://m.smh.com.au/rugby-league/lea...731-2qz7g.html

Steve Noyce is the new chief executive of Cronulla following the sudden departure of Bruno Cullen.
The former Sydney Roosters and Wests Tigers boss joined the Sharks as football manager in April.

He takes over from Cullen on an interim basis after Cullen left the club in frustration following the board's decision to reverse their decision over four sacked staff without consulting him on Monday.

While the Cronulla club continues to deal with a range of off-field dramas, the team has managed to put aside the turmoil to remain in finals contention.
After 20 rounds, the Sharks have recovered from a slow start to the season to sit in sixth place with a 10-8 record after thumping Penrith 38-10 at Remondis Stadium on Sunday.

They travel to Auckland this weekend to face the in-form Warriors on Saturday and it is understood the Cronulla players will begin their interviews with the Australian Sports Anti-Doping Authority next week about allegations of performance-enhancing substances being used at the club in 2011.

Anything I have to say about that Beaker looking assclown would probably end up with my banning.

They're welcome to each other. He and Gallen are going to be like two horrible peas in a horrible pod.

He'll always be the bloke on the gate to me. He's a decent bloke and a good fire fighter but he really is underqualified.

I feel really sorry for Steve having to take on that rabble..I though we were basket cases enough in 2009..Good luck Mr Noyce..you were always a gentleman to me.

                  Glutton for punishment.
Would've thought he'd had enough of dealing with all the off field rubbish when he was with us ...now he's taking a role with the club having the most off field dramas of any club ?

I really didn't understand why Steve took the job on in the first place. it was always going to end in tears.
A club struggling for $, players that are known to be always skirting trouble.....not to mention his old mate Toddy.

Hope it works out for him......but I can't see that happening.

He has a pretty good record of getting clubs back on track but this will certainly test him.

Good luck Noycey...always considered him one of the games better administrators.

Maybe he likes the challenge. I know I do in my career. The more difficult the Pensky file, the more I rise to the challenge, otherwise I would be brain dead. He certainly has the experience, not just in NRL, but sports administration in general. He also was at the Sydney Turf Club years ago. He's used to dealing with people on all levels..and happy birthday to all the horses today..speaking of turf..
