  • Denied try in Titans v Warriors game.

The last try by Kevin Gordon. I've watched it about 20 times and I cannot see in any way how it could be denied. It was clearly grounded on the line while Gordon keeping control of the ball. If anything it should be a penalty try for a Warriors player diving in legs first into Gordon. Absolute minimum a penalty.

I'm not a fan of the Titans but that should have been their 2 points.

If the ball touches the dead ball line it's No try...m Good decision!

Yeah it was grounded on the dead ball line which is definitely no try, should have been a penalty for sure though with the defender leading with a foot. No penalty try as he wouldn't have scored regardless.

Definatly no try, however the cowboys players foot struck his forearm by the rules it should have been a penalty. SBW scored a try against the knights & the same thing happened, should have been an 8pt try. As usual the officials pick & choose what rules to inforce. A good example is the backs & the 20m restart. They were getting pulled up 2yrs ago & being made to tap the ball bang on the line, watch how many tap it nearly a meter before the ling & get away with it. Not a big deal but why bog a game down with hard to inforce pedantic rules.

I don't think there was any intent with the foot, to connect with the players head, if you watch his eyes, and actions, you can see, he was definitely trying to get a touch on the ball with his foot to dislodge it, and not to cause harm to the tryscorer. But yes, definitely no try, was on the line which is out, and maybe a penalty, if the ref deemed so, which apparently he didn't, so I am assuming he seen what I seen.

Thanks guys, watching the highlights it didn't cross my mind that the line was the dead ball line, I thought it was the try line, silly me.

I thought the rule was you can't lash out with the boot at all in trying to stop a try ...courtesy of Billy Slater's tactic. So if you are striking out at the ball is irrelevant. I think the question is more should he penalised for attempting to lash out even if he doesn't connect ?

He never at any stage lashed out, it was more a gentle poke, hoping to contact the ball, but like yesterdays newspaper, its all history now.
