Of course it wouldn't have existed.

Whilst it was a very bad mistake there's no guarantee that Parra would have scored if he ruled it a dropped ball by Slater which really was the correct call Archer should have made...they might have scored or dropped a forced pass...who knows...they lost it when everyone stood by and let Inglis take that bomb uncontested with several Parra players close enough to have gone for it...they had momentum and it was a soft try and six deadly points to hand to the opposition in a crunch game...

I'm happy for him for the fact for all the shit that's been slung his way and the abuse he's copped he's still gone out there and given his all week in week out...he'll retire from footy one day with pride at his achievements and the shit he put up with will make it all the more enjoyable...

My advice is give it a rest and let the hate go for him...you're only making him more happy in the end now cause he's got the runs on the board and the fickle nasty fans have skata...

That is a very good post Foggy, even though i don't like Finchy,i think you nailed it pretty well with that post.

Also the six tackle option by Parra when the score was 16-22[just before the Melbourne penalty] was very ordinary, the ball ended up with Robinson and he put in an ill thought of grubber kick which went straight into the arms of the Storm instead of putting a kick over the opposition heads into the in goal so if they did not score off it they had a chance of a repeat set of six,it was a bad play at such a critical stage of the match.

Actually that makes it 2 sets they bumbled up because the lock Lowrie also got the ball on a 6th tackle near the line and put in a shit little feeble grubber that got taken easily by the Storm...one of the halves should have been screaming for the ball and done more with it...

Beautifully said Coggy - the bloke been pilloried and criticised from pillar to post but in the end he gets the last laugh because he's finally become a winner.

I'm really happy that he's finally found a coach that has allowed him to play a type of game that magnifies his strengths rather than his weaknesses. And a team and Club that has embraced him as a player and a person.

He's not the most talented footballer around, no one ever said he was.

But if some our blokes in 2009 put in half the effort Brett Finch puts in week after week we wouldn't be keepers of the wooden spoon.

parra threw away that gf, melbourne were too well drilled to organised, the expected stars for parra didnt shine, congrats though to foi foi and a few others, no contest between slater and his opposite? the championship was won by a champion team, we used to have a team of that quality in 74/75 everyone hated us for it too!
i wonder how wed match up all things being equal?
