  • Souffs ref bias - excellent article

Excellent article on refereeing bias towards souffs games when Hayne refs their games

    Well said Roy Masters.

If Hayne is referee for souffs next game we should all send this article to the NRL.

Roy has already made similar mentions of this on ABC Offsiders a few weeks back .....mentioning the 'romanticism' for the NRL of having Souffs and their movie star owner win the comp !

I dont need to Masters to tell me that the refs are favouring Souths. Manly were robbed twice this year against Souths.
And Slater's second 'try' on Friday night was definately a try.

the more the refs get exposed I think the more it will benefit us

If Im right years ago when I am not sure the old ruling was even if the ball wasnt grounded as long as the forearm was down with the ball it was try.
No wonder in NFL they just cross the line and thats it.
We have way too many over the top rules and you can never trust the video refs either.

I've know Shayne Hayne for 30 years. He was a Souffs supporter growing up. Not saying he would be bias because we all gotta support someone when we're kids. Just saying........

              Correct, Brainiac.
That's the way I remember it.

I think some how the benefit of the doubt rule was better than this conclusive rule
They just keep shooting themselves in the foot.
I keep barking on this over the years and will sing it again.
The game in the late eighties and early nineties was at its best the only rules that came in that I have liked is the 40/20 and the 10m rule ...every thing else has distorted the game even the simple things like what constitutes a knock on etc...they have only created grey areas not improved the game.

Just like the years I used to swear that Melbourne were rorting the salary cap and they were finally found out, the bias towards Souths is slowly being exposed.
                  SUPER DRAGON!

ill add, the corner post not being out, has made for some spectacular tries.

Sadly I think Hayne is a lock for the GF.

It might sound weird but I'm almost cheering Manly on as much as us!

At least it won't be a stitch up.

The media love in towards Souths in GF week would be sickening and will no doubt influence the refs.

Hayne was one of the NRL Fix It crew in the 2010 GF.
He is a true company man.

Youre assuming Souffs make the GF. I still believe they cannot. Not even with the refs.

Hopefully my GF week they will be forgotten.

I think Souths have the easier progression.

It'll be hard for Manly to win two more big matches after that game on Saturday night. I just don't see how anyone could keep that up for another fortnight.

And Cronulla? I can't see them progressing much further. Carney's not 100%, and the NRL will be very keen that they don't get their hands on the trophy in light of ASDA.

If Manly cop no injuries this week and get Stewart back the following week they will beat Souffs..
Providing they play with the same intensitiy like they did last week against us!
