  • So many more metres made...

Last season and before that, the winning teams would have about 1.1k-1.4k metres made per game. The highest was about 1.6k all season and it was a 60-0 flogging. (Forgot which teams)

So far it's been one round and the winning teams are racking up about 2k metres per game.

These rule changes are rubbish, why are we changing the game when it's perfectly fine. Every year there's rule changes. Soon there will be no physical contact allowed and penalties given for frowning while tackling. **** me

Disagree. Everything that can be done to get wrestling and shit like cannonballs out of game the better, as to anything that eliminates time wasting. Then anything that is conducive to more attack is awesome too.

Madrooster I dont agree. One of best games I saw last year was the 4-0 win against Manly. Every rule change has been made to make the game faster, but I love defence. Imagine what this will do to the under 20's...

Except of course when our players are stuffed and Inglis just runs through them like they're not even there.

I watched that game again recently and must say it was as fast as any game last season and faster than any game last weekend.

It was just brilliant desperate defence by both sides.

There is no reason IMO we can't see similar games this season.

It's waaaaaaaaaaaaay to early to prove any of this rule change alarmist conspiracy bullshit is ruining the game.

Stop reading the papers and your Twatter/Fartbook instant gratification rubbish and believing the sky is always falling.

And that's directed at everyone not specifically you ruzzman. Nothing personal mate.

BTW you can't harm the 20s, it's farking terminal already.

Yes. Lets turn it into 5 dummy half runs and a kick. Speeding up the play the ball too much will actually discourage attacking play rather than encourage it

If it's all too hard the fans will stay away.

A St George supporter from Kogarah emailed the radio today, said he took his son to ANZ at the weekend to watch the Dragons play, had to catch 5 trains.

Hadley told a fan who complained the other day about his team's game being at ANZ that the team was probably guaranteed $100,000 whereas if not played at ANZ the team might be likely to just break even.

Yep plus it's still warm so fatigue sets in meaning more space.

Every game should just be played at ANZ then, wont matter if 20 fans go, as long as they get their 100k. Seems that what its going to get to.

The game hasn't been fine for years.
Most of the rule changes over the last long time have been crap.
Unlimited interchange is bullshit, that signed the death warrant of the "Real" football and now the game is full of athletes.

Is that what you see happening based on the weekend?

I actually loved that game too. It was very fast, free flowing, with a tight score line because of some of the best defensive efforts you would ever want to see in a rugby league game. By both us and them.

No The Wankos introduced wrestling mate, while Waynekerr was coach.

It's been well documented while Bellyache was his assistant at The Wankos he was instructed to obtain a wrestling coach, late 90s from memory. It was Waynekerrs initiative even though since he's tried to blame Melba.

But they are owned by News LTD, The Wankos that is. I believe Melba were sold to private owners???
