Mate all you ever do is blow up about how shit the NRL is. If it's not the shit ref's it's the shit administrators. Do you seriously think the game is just going to abandon this kid and his family?
Take a bex and have a lie down for 5 min buddy. If we keep outlawing every thing in the tackle it will turn into touch footy. It was a freak accident that is all. Why do you even watch the game if all you ever do is complain and write how shit the administration is.
I hope the kid takes this in his stride (not meant as a joke) and goes on to do great things with his life even after this terrible accident.
My best mates brother is a paraplegic, dirt bike accident when he was 16, now 26 and is a great bloke who has not let his disability stop him from doing things most able bodied people do.
I'm sure the Knights AND the NRL will make sure Alex is looked after for the rest of his life.

Agreed 100% but the scarey thing is the nrl is spineless and overreacts to everything. I fear the game will become oztag

I know you're always taking the piss, Bondi-Boy, as am I, but this isn't the time for one of your whinges.

There is a supremely fit young man in the prime of his life, with his whole future in front of him sitting in a hospital bed and he's just been told he'll never walk again and everything he's worked so hard for is gone.

There's not alot that usually phases me, but this is so tragic it nearly brings a tear to your eye.

So cut the shit you simpleton...

I see both sides of the argument

those that have played and followed rugby league since the days of the biff and shoulder charge not wanting the game to change ..

To the nrl wanting to make the game more appealing for the next generation of footballers ..

If parents keep believing this is a thugs game it won't last ..

                  It's not a thugs game, it's a mans game!

If you can't handle it then go play soccer or Aussie rules.

                  Simple really.

He's not the first and he won't be the last, I remember the day that John Farragher had a scrum collapse on him. I feel very sorry for McKinnon.

Not saying I feel that way .. But that's how a lot of people feel about the game .. The game needs to adapt to the times ..

Puts things into perspective, doesn't it?

My thoughts go out to Alex and his family.

Am sure the strength and courage that got him to the elite level in his chosen sport will be enough to pick himself up and 'move mountains' in his own way. All the best Alex!

The NRL should've banned all lifting tackles years ago.
                                Maybe now they will.

Is there NRL insurance with several million dollars as a payout for Alex?
If there isn't he should sue the NRL.
