My best wishes to Alex and his family. His life has sadly changed forever. There would be so much grief and disbelief.

Makes all our small worries pale by comparison.

Best wishes for the future to Alex, his partner, and his family.

The NRL should've banned all lifting tackles years ago.
                  Maybe now they will.

Is there NRL insurance with several million dollars as a payout for Alex?
If there isn't he should sue the NRL.

Mate it was a freak occurrence, and the same thing can happen to someone who wasn't lifted in a tackle.

It doesn't happen anymore in scrums...as the srummaging rules were changed.
The lifting tackle rules should be changed, now.
None of this "past the horizontal" rubbish...all lifting tackles must be banned.

The NRL is awash with money. There should be multi million dollar insurance policy payouts for players left paraplegics and quadriplegics.
If the NRL doesn't have them in place, then it must make an ex gratia multi million dollar payout to Alex, and get them in place, yesterday.

As Pymp stated also to the boys from Melbourne involved.

Good luck to the NRL in attracting junior players to the game after this...if they don't change the lifting tackle rules.

IMO parents will see this and not want their children to suffer the same fate.
