  • A stitch up

After years of supporting the Roosters, sadly I can see a ref stitch up miles away.

Tonight the blessed Souffs are once again being favoured and it is Penriff's time to cop it. We are seeing the full dog and pony show. Back to back penalties, Soward, on report, Inglass being tackled out with the obligatory Souffs penalty, penalty in front of the posts for the two points....

Penriff I empathise with you. Go Panfers!

I haven't been following the match, but back to back penalties? Weren't Penrith leading the penalties 8-6 and had all the field position?

Yes they were, but in the vermin's case it always evens up plus interest in the second half.
Whereas usually with us if we are copping it in the first half, we also cop it in the second half !

CN, I posted this after 15 mins. Shortly thereafter, the penalties started to even up

I heard there was so much milking going on, Dairy Farmers would like to now sponsor Souths..

In the first half Ch9 commentator said that the ref had asked upstairs what the penalty count was.
Must've been after about 25 mins, 'cause I couldn't take anymore of the super-boring, mistake-riddled, useless tactics, useless attack play and switched the game off just before half time.

Now, why would the ref do that?

The week before, after watching a 6-1 penalty count and two dubious decisions be awarded to Souths against the Dragons after about 25 mins, and Souths score their first try [it was mentioned by blocker on radio today]...I switched that game off also.

Anyone who thinks that anything has changed or will change is in for a rude shock, I suspect.

I watch my chick flicks on Friday nights now instead of endless Souths games. Very unappetizing at the dinner hour one would think.

You are right BB. The ref should NEVER ask what the penalty count is. It should be irrelevant in correct policing of the game and its rules. Peter Sterling questioned this practice a few years ago on The Sunday Footy show.
