I am in the opinion that nearly every problem in the NRL is attributable to expansion.

One very simple question for the very boring Tries off kicks and also the incompetant Mr Gallop.
How can "quote" the product to be as strong as it can possibly be....with the exodus of dozens of high quality first grade players to League and Union each year.
The fiscal mismangement and reactionary thinking reminds me of a man who has never ever had to work for himself.
A suit with an ego.
Gallop should never, ever have been appointed in that position.
We need a potent attack not the best defence.barbarian ......arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!!

We look back to pre sewerleague, when we had the original gold coast, perth, Warriors.
League was growing in popularity, expansion across australia (and across the ditch) was what was needed.
The problem we have today is the aftermath of sewerleague. Expansion was retracted with the likes of adelaide, GC, Reds and Mariners all dumped with only melbourne left from the sewerleague dream.

I agree with ya about Gallop Trew. His cock is so soft he makes marshmallow look like wood. If he is still our CEO by the time of the next TV rights discussions, i fear he would even refuse a much higher bid by Seven or Ten just for the sake of sticking with Nein. Nein and Gallop can both go to Hell. And 2GB as well ... no other sport in the country limits its own exposure by having exclusive radio rights. FFS he is a pot plant.

he is much more dangerous than a pot plant.
A pot plant would indicate a harmless, attractive, perhaps fragrant species that needs a little TLC.
This guy has an ego.
He loves feeling important.
But........
most importantly......
He thinks he is doing a wonderful job.
Is it just me but there is no way on Gods earth that this man is a front bencher. He should have stayed on the back bench where he belonged.
No charisma.
No forward planning.
No proactivity at all.barbarian ......arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!!

Forget 2012, Gallop should be sacked purely on the basis of the current TV Rights deal. Fancy having over 70 of top 100 rating Foxtel programs including 8 out of the top 10 and accepting half the tv rights that was paid to the AFL.
But just thinking about it, the CEO can only be sacked by the board of directors which is largely represented by which major shareholder? Talk about conflict of interest...

exactly dice.
Why the silence??
It is a massive story really.
Its a bad image for league.
News Limited hold rugby league to ransom and not ONE journalist wants to write the truth. Very, very shady.
That is a story worthy of front page status not drunken players antics.barbarian ......arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!!!!!!!

I would agree with you that something needs to be done in terms of rewarding clubs for bringing players through and keeping them and some system of salary cap discounting should certainly be applied. And Gallop has failed in that area, no doubt. Almost as much as he's failed with regards to allowing Robert Finch to continue running the refs.
Having said that, the salary cap absolutely must be retained. Somewhat ironically, if there was no salary cap, or if it was drastically increased, the Roosters would go broke. The salary cap saves them from themselves
As for players going to England, **** 'em. There's always new players coming through, it's generally only the just about washed up who go there, and the young stars know that going there (or France, or to Union) might get them some more cash, but will detract from the reputation and standing they will be left with when their career is over. Nothing beats playing in the best comp in the world. There'll always be a few who'll want to take the cash. Let them go, they're no loss
