    Too late.
Bye bye to their best player, the one who basically won them the match against the Broncos.

If I'd been a Sharks player at that meeting today I would've said; "You're kidding...thanks for nothing," walked out and gone home.

Radio host just announced that this "bubbler" is being done in pubs and niteclubs 'everywhere'...that his son had seen "lots of young blokes doing it".

Cronulla players abandon planned Sharks training session due to Todd Carney sacking.
CRONULLA players abandoned a weights and gym session on Monday morning following an emotional and occasionally fiery meeting with Sharks chief executive Steve Noyce over the sacking of Todd Carney.
Young blokes? They are referring to 18 to 20 yr old twits. Not 28 yr old 'adults'. Thats what you cant seem to grasp.

    • The only ones I feel sorry for are Todd's family. They've been through enough over the years and now this.

Would they be game enough to sack Pearce or one of our stars bigger and brighter than Pearce...over what Carney did?
        I suggest not.
What was it a $20,000 fine for being drunk, kicked out of 3 licence premises and leaning over to get a girls attention? Not exactly pissing in your own mouth and running off the rails all year but if he does it again I wouldn't be up in arms if the club sacks him.
And if any of our players are found to be doing something as idiotic as what Carney did id be hopeing the club would punt them no matter who they are. That's just my opinion anyway

Chooks did it with carney, friend, mason abd myles.

If it was a first time offence by a player, then I doubt they would be sacked, but if fergo did something similar when playing for us next year, I think that it would be the end of his contract.

And comparing anything to what pearce did this year is ridiculous, because pearce actually did nothing.

I dunno about meth but I had heard he was on the gunga pipes and the piss big time.

Who cares. He's a deashit with responsibility deficiency syndrome where nothing is ever his fault.

            Chook.

Astonishing. It gave a real insight into the way Carney ticks.

              • I don't like Noyce.

He shouldn't have sacked him at Easts, and he went overboard again at Cronulla.

It's an overreaction, and it's a bloke's career at stake.

Shame carney never thinks his career is at stake when he does these idiotic things, players like that aren't smart enough to think for themselves, so others have to step in.

Again only one person to blame here.

                  • It was a Board decision to sack him. Noyce is just the messenger.

                    • I am not offended by what footy players do I have never seen them as role models, their form is all I care about.

But they do represent a brand and the brand needs to attract sponsorship so u cant blame the sharks for punting him.

I do feel it was poorly handled, the club + NRL should have spoke and met with him to understand and digest it properly. You cant punt someone like that you have to take into account the mental safety of ppl.

Mate, it's not an overreaction at all. Carney has fugged up time and time again. The club realised that enough was enough. He's 28 now and it's obvious it'll be another 50 years before he learns anything

Exactly - Carney never changes, it's always someone else's fault. The day the bloke actually takes responsibility for his actions is the day he may just be a player and a person worth having as part of a club.

Time and time again he farks up - and time and time again it's never his fault, there is always an excuse. I suspect he'll still be blaming someone else for his own mistakes his entire life.

The NRL are well rid of this headline waiting to happen (again).
