From memory Carney was offered a number of different counsel/rehab opportunities at the Roosters and refused to contemplate attending any of them because he felt he didn't have a problem. One of the main reasons the club in the end decided to cut their losses.
You can't help someone who doesn't believe they need it. And that is Carney in a nutshell. And the sad thing is, his family have always defended the bloke to the hilt and never encouraged him to take responsibility for his actions or seek assistance for his issues.
Carney has no one to blame but himself for what he has lost. He will blame anyone and everyone because that's what he always does. The NRL are well rid of him and hopefully never register another contract for him again.
If another code or overseas comp want to take him on, they can do it at their own risk.
