  • Guilty Gallen , Guilty

    Basically confessed.???
    Unless I'm missing something.

He is made out to be courageous.
Nothing brave about copping this rap, unless he's been telling porkies.

Too good an offer to refuse??????
    Rubbish.
Takes guts to stand up for yourself and your perceived truth.
Gallen wants to eat his cake , and have it too.

Glad I got no love for Cronulla Sutherland Sharks.

      Absolutely not.
Nothing has been proven, it was simply a stress reliving and cost based decision by all the players.

Most of the interviews conducted by ASADA were illegal, due to the people (mainly NRL) that sat in on the interviews.
The charges related to this shit fight have nothing to do with illegal drugs that a certain person at Cronulla has been rumoured to be on your a long while.

ASADA were a bees dick away from he discredited by WADA. WADA did not want to ratify any of the decisions based on the NRL investigations.

ASADA has gone from an organisation run by sports administrators and ex sportspeople to being run by incompetent public service puppets.

Think what you may but ASADA is a complete **** up and is reputation is internationally screwed.

Exactly why, plus being" innocent ", why I'd take them on.
Maybe I've got more balls than Gall and his ilk.

Maybe you would. But until your in the situation these players are in. None of us can really say what we would do. It is easy to say we would fight it But they have been given a get out clause with the deal offered which is close to being too good to be true Take the rap and play on with no real penalty but a smear ion your name whi\ch I think will blow over. Or fight it spend hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal costs only to be rubbed out of the game and your professional career in sport finished

ASADA I wish all the players would fight it as I think ASADA have very little WHY offer such a deal They want this gone and done with as quick as possible This is the best way where its over quick and they get what they want

First they listened to whoever said "shoot this up" , now they listen to lawyers who say dont make waves.

Fine for the rest, but someone should tell Gallen he aint no misunderstood hero.

This farce is not over just yet anyway, there is a possibility WADA might not accept the sanctions. It is reported they haven't seen the evidence ASADA are using and the fact the players were able to play since November 2013 and were paid for it....flies in the face of other athletes who received sanctions over the years.

A political stunt gone wrong....but if athletes are guilty of something which breaches the code or admit guilt....WADA will want to know and has the power to overrule the sanctions (deal brokered with NRL?) handed down by ASADA.

Former WADA boss John Fahey upon hearing the news was quoted

"Nobody has had their record expunged ... they did not hand back their earnings from this year nor did they have their names wiped from the record books as so many convicted athletes are forced to do under the WADA code around the world," he said.

I think they should have held strong this about a club its coach's and managers that fark up not players trying to cheat. The coach's trainers managers etc should be banned for life. I also find it sad that ASADA cornered the player into admitting guilt and not showing their evidence so the palyers could examine it.

Its obvious they have fark all if these guys a getting 3 week bans in efffect, also a sad reflection on the labour/greens gov that used Australian sport to deflect attention from their miserable woes.

Gutless are the ASADA administration. The players are saying enough is enough, they don't want to fork out another $50-100K in legal fees to fight something that, given the way ASADA is working now, will not be based on logical or sense.

Well said Billy Although I reckon the legal costs for the players would be higher

Read the contracts they signed with the sharks, and talk to their mothers.

I do have some sympathy for them btw, and would'nt trust asada either.

ASADA is about to lose against Essendon, they needed a win. They have been hounding the Sharks day and night for over 18 months and they said they would stop if the Sharks players copped what is essentially a batting around of their balls.

No-one will dare call the sainted gorilla Gallen a cheat, not when he's a Stool winner.

I heard there were still certain players obtaining supplements from trainers /doctors even after clubs had warned these players to stay away from then.
That goes beyond the clubs duty of care.
