As a supposedly knowledgeable Rugby League person 
I was asked this at work today.
In the Vermin theme song Glory Glory yadda yadda, there is a verse which says
"Slew the Dragons from St. George
The Seagulls and the Mounties next
Were crushed with mighty force"
....who are the Mounties ?
Or have the Vermin once again created a bit of fiction and fudged history to suit themselves.
I'm told it's not Penrith as the song was written before the Riff & the sharks entered the comp in 67 and both are not mentioned.
Can't imagine who this might be ..... though I did try explain to one work colleague that the Mounties were the team the vermin tricked in 1921 to win the comp on forfeit ..... seems as good an explanation as anything else !
