Good post Bigchook. The panthers will be thereabouts again in 2015 whilst the Roosters will start the season without a key player in Friend. Which Roosters side will show up next year - the 2013 version or the 2014 one?

Can someone tell me one area of the field where they're better than us?

3/4s? No. Halves? No. Front row? Lol Backrow? No. Hooker? No. Fullback? Maybe.

That pathetic loss to them thanks to our disgraceful effort, the disgraceful Casty no try and some flat out blind luck seems to have misled a lot of people.

Not love just respect for Cleary & to a less a degree Gus. They are good operators & Penrith will be there or there about without a doubt & like I have said they are a champion team not a team of champions.

I actually like friend missing the first half the season. I think the the physicality of the game along with all the rep footy means the season is too long and bodies aren't coping. A key player missing half the season means he will be peaking at the right time. Just look at luke for souths. From memory, when we won the comp in 2013 we had a few players out for various parts of the year. Gives them a freshen up.

And hey, if we lose a few games to start the year we could blow out to 10/1 for the comp which sounds juicy to me.
