People who bash women are pathetic. The nrl isn't. It can't win with some. If they ban every player with an off field indiscretion the games stocks would sadly be pretty thin. For me it's the consistency. The fact that Todd Carney was booted and Robert lui wasn't is disgraceful. Todd Carney is a genuine wanker but he isn't malicious. If the league is serious about violence against women it would impose more serious sanctioning for domestic violence. Apart from that, I'm of the belief that most players all deserve another chance(s) provided they pay their dues.

The bloke hardly did anything wrong this year, yet was flashed all over the news, fined 20k, suspended from a match and lost his origin jersey. Yet Sutton and Luke Burgess were thrown in jail, charged and yet the incident was completely covered up and only came out due to suspicions about Sutton losing the captaincy. And apart from that, neither of them have copped anything close to what Mitchell did. Sutton will play round 1 and was even named captain of a trial this weekend, whilst Burgess was handed a fresh start at a new club.

I was thinking the same thing. Pearce made a lewd comment to a woman and was tarred and feathered. The "Pride of the League" players left a young bloke in a pool of blood and it's a case of "move on, nothing to see here".

Glad to see that the NRL has caved in to pressure and is looking at the case again. And unlike last year's incident - when Auva'a ran amok and was charged with recklessly causing injury and criminal damage - this time they might not wait until the Vermin win the comp before they act.

Hopefully the NRL cracks down hard on this kind of $hyte. I see a few problems:
