Seems a bit high. While Foran's alright, I think you could get better halves for that kid of money and... spending Hayne's money on 1 player? Naaah... NOBODY is worth as much as Hayne, besides maybe GI. And even then, I think it's a waste spending so much on 1 player (no matter how good they are). IMO if Parra were better negotiators they could have signed a decent pair of halves for that money (and possibly offloaded Sandow, leaving them with money to spare after the transaction).

While money was not his top priority, Foran will be well compensated for his move out west.

Sure, his dad's a multi-millionaire, but that doesn't mean he's living in his parent's basement playing video games and has no need for money. He's a professional player and it's fair for him to demand adequate compensation. Good on him for negotiating a lucrative contract (nothing wrong with trying to secure the best coin possible). Wonder if DCE will stay on now? Sounds like Manly's in a bit of trouble.

Foran is a good player no doubt, and many will argue he is a better player than Maloney. However, even if that is the case, the fact that Maloney would cost roughly half of what Foran does means he is a much better option for us going forward. Maloney is a great fit for us - he compliments Pearce really well and also kicks goals; I believe that Foran would be too similar to Pearce and he obviously isn't a goal kicker. Furthermore, look at what signing a player for half the price does for the rest of the squad. Parra's backline and forward pack dont even come close to the quality and class of ours, and spending 1/6 of your salary cap on one player won't help that.

I'm definitely happy if we keep Maloney and stay away from signing a million dollar half.

Foran is a good player, and will be a great asset to Parra, am glad he didn't come here at the probable expense of Maloney, for half the money, and a great goal kicker as well. All we need to do is keep our powder dry for a gun Frontrower, , that's our only possible weakness.

now manly will have lost both their halves they'll go real hard to steal jimmy from us so wed best be prepared to offer him a bit more and to make it a 3 year deal so he can retire here, I think last night again showed his value aside from the 4/5 goals he was great in both attack and defence and an integral part f our team, he keeps pearce grounded as well
