    www.betfair.com

Betfair's different from the standard bookmaker sites because you're actually betting against other people, as opposed to betting against the bookmaker. Betfair makes it's money by taking a commission from punters when they win

And you can even choose to be the bookmaker if you want. To use your Carney example, if you thought Carney was not going to have a good year, you could go on there and offer a price about him winning the Dally M. If someone wants to back him at the odds you offer, it's a bet. You can decide how much money you want to hold, you just need to have enough $$ in your account to pay up if you lose.

More importantly though, the odds are generally better. Carney's $30 on betfair, and $26 with Sportstab

      I would recommend Sportingbet.com.au

One of the largest and best known online bookies in the country

Also have Carney at $34 to win the Dally M

Betfair has better odds by miles, especially in markets where the odds are a little longer (like the Dally M market)
        FONK

Centrebet for me is the most simple and direct one to use.

Their best feature is that you get to pick you own lines.

Eg if the official line is Roosters -6.5 and you don't think they can cover, you can adjust it anywhere from there to Roosters 20.5+ obviously at a lower rate. It's great if you are in the punting game and don't just listen to what others tell you.

Lol mate take it from someone who has made a modest living from betting over the last 5 years, you will need at least 2 or 3 bookie accounts to have a chance at making any money atm I have 10 bookie accounts. Also may I suggest that if you go ahead don't bet any money that you cannot afford too lose. And I also suggest betting the same amount on each bet and that it should be no more than 5% of your starting balance. Also if you have a good start and rattle of a run of wins don't up the ante on your bet size because what you win in good run on your first 10 bets can be lost just as easily on your next 5 bets.

Wise words. I see we have an experienced punter!! lol

I run a couple of international horse racing websites and we promote (in order) SportsBet, IASBet, CentreBet & SportingBet.

SportsBet is generally the most recognisable and therefore most trusted to the mainstream.

But when choosing a particular site, it really does come down to -

                  1) Who you're familiar with
                  2) Whether you trust the name
                  3) The appearance of the site and how easily and effective it is to use

There's no point having the best odds if your visitors / users haven't got a clue how to navigate your way around the website.

Thanks rcptn,I appreciate the advice, I wont be betting too much. Two or three accounts so I can get the best odds? If you had to pic 3 which would they be? Im only interested in betting on Rugby League.

If I had to pick a few they would be the following

                        http://www.pinnaclesports.com/

Probably the best and most highly respected online bookies in the world. They have high odds and have been around for ages. The only overseas based bookie I use.

                        http://centrebet.com/cust

One of the best bookies in the world and probably Australia's leading bookmaker

                        http://www.sportingbet.com.au/uipub/sport.aspx?out=true

Another one of Australia's best bookies imho

Yeah but that takes all the fun out of it.

Myself and a couple of mates had a syndicate going on Betfair where we would lay favorites we mad some cash each be it slowly
