  • Just one more penalty to give the storm

That is there team must be disbanded and not allowed to continue as it is now. Still think it was a disgrace that the dirty dogs were able to keep players they had assembled illegally with the old "we'll take a paycut" and then they went on and won a premiership. The NRL cant let that happen again.

I agree but how likely is it that that will happen?

I agree 100% Dolphin, they must be made to move players on.
However I cannot see it happening, this ordeal may galvanise the players and make them stick togethe,r as the Bulldogs did.

Oh! and I'm now 100. (posts that is)

I Have a long way to go to catch up with Lauren tho.

      Giddyup!

Is this why Steve Price retired, he couldn't get a gig at the Storm ?

If you look at the size of the breaches you will find the Bulldogs are still the undisputed kings of cheats. http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2002/...053035361.html
the Bulldogs breached the salary cap by $750,000 in 2001, had budgeted to exceed it by $889,456 [in 2002]
And don't forget the salary cap was much smaller than current.

As Dolphin suggests, 2004 was a bigger scandal than 2002. The NRL should be ashamed of themselves for letting it happen. If I remember correctly, over and above being able to retain the nucleus of the 2002 cheating side, the bulldogs were allowed to carry an 8% salary cap bonus into 2004 for making the top 8 in 2003 because they missed out on the top 8 in 2002.

and thats why i agree with dolphin, the storm should not be able to retain their players, not like the dogs did by allowing the same players to take pay cuts

pay cuts of 8 percent yet they seemedwell over 20 percent over the cap

I can foresee they will be calling all the player contracts up for review...they will have to get it back to the salary cap limit so obviously some players will be let go and others may have to take a paycut...

The club will lose some serious funds on top of the fines they copped...lost game takings from less people going to see them...loss of sponsors wanting to distance themselves fro the cheats...

Gallop has already stated he won't let Melbourne do a ****erbury. I read where he said they can't get back under the cap by reducing contract amounts, they must sack players. That's what should have happened to the previous cheats.

                          Chook.

Melbourne MUST be play to win in 2010 with a handicap score of say -14 points per game = 2 points/$100,000 of over salary gap . The opposing team merely needs to win but the storm must win by their handicap. Each 2 weeks their handicap is adjusted if they win by more than the 14 points so the handicap is increased as the storm may improve during the course of the year. It will maintain interest in Storm games for fans. Otherwise also Storm would have no interest in playing fair and not recklessly injuring opponents as nothing would hinges on suspensions if they are not playing to win.

Also they could be obliged to play with no interchanges or say ony 2 per game
