Phil Gould: Hypocrite!

Phil Gould said in today's Sun-Herald:

Why didn't the NRL see this earlier? When did Gallop first know that (sic.) Melbourne Storm were over the salary cap?

If it's true he didn't discover there was a problem until recently, why didn't he suspect a problem much sooner than this? Blind Freddy could see the Storm's playing roster was looking very different to many other NRL teams.

Thanks for the scoop Gus. I don't know anyone who thought the Storm were under the cap. For that matter I also don't know anyone who thinks the Broncos have been under the cap in recent years.

If you knew then why didn't YOU say something about it? It's no good blowing your own trumpet after the fact!

Why didn't you tell us all 5 years ago? Why didn't you tell us all about the second set of books?

Why didn't you write an article entitled: "NRL Must Act Now on Storm Salary Cap Rort"

I'm guessing just like David Gallop and the rest of the rugby league community you had suspicions but no proof and didn't want to get your backside sued by the Melbourne Storm, the NRL and News Limited!

For all his bluster on he ills of the game Gould never criticises Channel 9 and their shit house coverage and promotion of the game. Whilst I agree for the most part of his attacks on News Ltd he falls short when he says nothing about 9 not showing games in Victoria .
