  • An example of the $ Rot

I am on my high horse (or really big pony) again.
Basically I think that the "professionalism" of the game, ie the $s, high salaries etc is really ****ing up the game of RL.

I am quite happy to aknowledge the necessity of sponsors but get pissed off when the quest for $s takes things from the fans, be it higher fees for foxtel, more ads on Ch9, expensive support gear or increases in ticket prices.

But what I find quite annoying is happening at the SFS during Roosters home games.
Something good/bad but interesting and even crucial happens during a game.
the big screens go to show a replay only to have some sponsors logo and announcement come up and the replay is missed. Pretty ordinary in my opinion.

Ticket prices are a something that really gets me, I buy my season ticket/membership and yes i get approx 1 - 2 free games.

I am annoyed that we play a home game in gosford then NZ and the entry for these games are EXTRA ontop of my season ticket.

i will say though (and thankfully the gosford game is included in this pack), the travelling rooster membership is a great initiative, basically paying $9/game for entry to 3 games. incentives like this should be followed through for all away games, increase the travelling support for the roosters.

In a perfect world, i woul like 12 home games at the SFS included in my season ticket with the price of the season ticket being equal or less than $200.

Playing home games away from home is unscrupulous because it artificially decreases season ticket prices. The club can pretend they're being really generous by saying season pass prices are low, but in reality, we're paying less because we're getting less.

      It really pisses me off.

There should also be more effort to get members to away games - the $8 travelling season ticket holder ticket must come back.

I would think a "Quensland Resident Away Game Pass" would be a good initiative..

3 games for say $50 would be appropriate..

I would fly up to Townsville for the Cowgirls game if the pass existed..

Can't see marketing showing the foresight to implement this though

You would fly to North Qld to save $8 off the admission price???

Also, we don't play Brisbane in Brisbane do we???

Not as ordinary as our players going to other codes because the NRL is a joke - even if clubs have the income to keep them they can't.

The problem is that Sydney NRl fans will only take membership or season tickets if they get value for money....ok that's fair. AFL members take membership out because they want to belong / feel part of a member tribe.

Muz made the comment about what he expects for his membership $$$ and that's cool and the club could afford that if they had 20,000 members and not the barely 5,000 we have now. I too hate those adds at the game that KB was talking about because it takes away from the whole reason of having a screen the size of a block of units.

I didn't think it was 5 years ago. i do remeber the game, as we had been average all year, yet we won the game, and Mini scored a great try from our own 20.

The game against the Titans in the rain was one of the worst games I have been too.
