After a week when League was on the defensive with Falou and GWS how disheartening to see a pitiful 7k turn up to see the Grand Final replay and only 12k against two of the highest drawing clubs in Sydney.

Bad weather perhaps but those crowds are pitiful and a genuine reason why the game may struggle against the AFL juggernaut long term

Chookaholic, do you live in Sydney? Last night, and yesterday, was some of the most extreme weather i've ever seen. I think we can excuse some families for not going to the footy last night.

Yet the TV figures for the NRL easily outstrip the AFL... Didn't the Swans play a game recently out that way that attracted all of 9000 people?? And that was after much hype..

Unlike people that live in Melbourne we Sydney folk aren't used to day after day of miserable rainy weather.

Personally I think that anyone that went to Parramatta or Homebush last night out to be applauded.

The inner-city of Sydney will always be the heart and soul of Australian Rugby league.

Whoever does'nt believe that , does'nt understand the culture of the game.
