I believe they brought out that slogan when we signed Anasta and Myles off them. Then it came out fully when we took O'Meley and Mason.

Fair enough, we're a chequebook club, but really, it's quite comedic.

    Ennis
    Hannant
    Hodgson
    Morris
    Kimmorley
    Turner
    Tia-Kilifi
    Paea
    Green
    Halatua
    Goodwin
    Tubby Gordon
    Stagg
    Armit
    Danny Williams
    Tandy

The only players I've seen that they have brought through their system?

    Patten
    Barba
    Hickey
    Idris
    Roberts

    Bred not bought

st george boy if my memory serves me correctly . the funny thing is that our club has a remarkable amount of our own in it compared to years gone by. in fact at full strength, the only non-roosters juniors are graham, carney, myles, ryles, JWH, koops (if selected) and anasta

This is actually a sore point with the faithful, that our juniors are not coming through into first grade.

We always preferred to have our own in first grade and top them up with imports, not the other way round.

Take Patten (St George-Illawarra) and Roberts (Tigers) off the list.

It's not about juniors mate, it's more the fact that your supporters had a go at us for being a chequebook club yet in reality? Rugby league today (medern era) is a professional game. Every single team is a chequebook club.

It's a shame too, because the dogs fans I know (2 mates of mine) are good blokes who will be the first to admit with my statement above. Not all dogs fans are such wankers that agree with that "bred not bought" slogan. Most of the wankers just hang out at the kennel or make up websites such as rleague.com

Good to see you're not a biased bigot like most of them though and can see the point of my discussion.

The slogan was the brainchild of that arsewipe Noad, who at the same time was raiding St George's lower grades for players. Brilliant man ... not! Many of the diehards cringed when that came out, especially considering the issues from 2002.

I'll be the first to admit that the dogs club itself turned around as soon as that toad Noad was shown the door and greenberg was added.

I used the starting lineup from Rd 1, was going to go through the whole team before I realised I had better things to do with my time. Point is, how many of those guys can you really call Juniors? I.E. How many of those guys would you say come from Roosters heartland and not grabbed from some other area? Make the question easier to answer, how many of those guys come from Junior clubs linked remotely to the Roosters?

Oooooooohhh. You make such sense. How big is the Roosters' junior area? How big is the Raiders? Like comparing a grape to a pineapple.

It is far more relevant to ask how many came through a club's junior rep teams and were developed through to its first grade side. How many of your team come from the CBD & surrounding area in Canberra (an area no bigger than our junior area)? Then its grape to grape.

The real question is, why does Canberra fail time and time again despite sitting on a goldmine of juniors?

Not being a Canberra supporter, I can't answer those questions. I'm american, and the Raiders my name refers to is the Oakland Raiders.

Just pointing out that the Roosters don't have alot in terms of Junior Development, and that they sign most of their players from different areas. So again, how many of our Roosters players are legit Juniors from the Bondi area, an how many are from other regions?

Be proud of this fact. People want to play for the Roosters and are willing to come from anywhere. We don't need juniors. From what I've read, the Roosters pride themselves in the mid 90's of having a strategy where they buy the best players from the worst clubs. Power to us I say
