Yeh to be the best player in the comp you must succeed at origin. What is there to get about that? You seem so baffled. I don't think anyone has ever called Carney the best player in the comp because he's yet to prove himself on the big stage... i.e Finals time & State of Origin. If he can establish himself over a long period of time at the highest levels of the game then yes the call may well be warranted.

I'm not saying that if you don't succeed at origin then you're a bad player because look at Creagh & Kimmorley (to an extent) both have had great careers to date and are great players.

But to be consistent is to be great in my opinion.

I wouldn't say Locky is consistent at all to be honest.

They all play different roles, but in terms of inspiring the team, and offering strengths is all departments, Gallen is a class above.
