Most sensible post I've read on this site.

      Just thought that needed correcting.
Narrow minded people are always the first to call themselves open minded.
Ha, so i can go out and play a game on the weekend, give eye gouges, head highs, racially vilify players and belittling refs, and i can consider myself passionate.

i wonder if the judiciary will let me use that as a defence...."Sorry for ripping his eye out and calling him a black c, i am passionate, thats what i do"

weissbar, some players are just not wanted for the stigma they bring, you and tardomite can fornicate over gallen all you want, but the FACT is, he will not be coming to the roosters...............EVER

and thank god for that !

Oh i forgot, how many premierships has gallen won?
This is a strange measure if a player has remained loyal to one club. The fact he has made rep teams playing with the sharks is more a true measure of his ability.

Agreed, Petro is a wonderful rationally thinking bloke. But to say he is nice on the field is ridiculous.
Petero, Smith & Lockyer all captain their respective clubs. Smith & Lockyer their nation. They've all won Grand Finals & State of Origin series.

What exactly has Gallen inspired the Sharks to do? If you haven't noticed they've been rooted to the bottom of the comp for the last 2 years.

These are strange examples Lockyer and Smith are both news ltd players so much of their achievements must be questioned re winning GF's in light of Melbourne's track record

They're both great players first and foremost. Smith imo is the best player in the world, his ability to organise a side from dummy half is unprecedented.

But to the point both are much better captains and inspirations to their team than Gallen. They have both the team and personal achievements to back it up regardless of which team they are playing for. Gallen has neither.

I actually think it's a bit of a cop out especially to Lockyer's career considering it has never been proven...

Finchy also looked pretty good playing at Melbourne this year. Amazing how good an overpriced team can make you look

I know Braif is not the player people build him up to be, but at least he is a nice guy on ang off the field. Gallen is a thug, after Mason I think we can all agree that Gallen type players does more damage than good to any team, the proof is where they are on the ladder.

yet the side he "inspires" has been in contention for the wooden spoon for the past 2 seasons........go figure !

I stand by my post about Gallen.

                        He is a grub.

Just like the apparently redeemed Greg Bird. And the apparently redeemed Matthew Johns.

And going back to Peter Gow's destruction of that Saint's jersey back in 1999.

What do they have in common?

                        Cronulla, of course.

You're an idiot if you're even going to try and compare Finch's limited success at the Storm to Smith and Lockyer's careers where they've dominated not just 'looked good' at every level they've played at.

You're one cynical bastard if you let News cloud your judgment of any player associated with them.

Why are we even comparing Anasta and Gallen? Gallen is a lock who plays in tight and does a lot of the dirty work normally done by front rowers. There's no doubt that his figures will always be better then Anasta's because Braith isn't your workhorse backrower. Its like comparing chalk and cheese to be honest.

OK because Bwaiff is now a "SPECIAL" 13 lets compare his stats to L Lewis.
