I watched Wayne Bennett's press conference after the game last night.

What an arrogant revolting turd he is.

All of his answers were short and he couldn't hide his aggression towards the reporters.

Even Gordon Tallis said that it was a disgrace because he should be trying to promote the game and he is really speaking to the fans and not the press.

I don't think I can watch Mr Handshake again.

It was like a visit to the dentist.

He and Soward deserve eachother.

For the first time I thought the same thing as well. He comes on TV, mumbles 2 words and acts like his time is being wasted.

It also dawned on my that the reason crowds are so shit is probably to do with the fact that TV run the game.

The clubs want us to attend the game but the NRL are better off if we stay home and watch it on Fox.

Tallis was spot on with what he said

mentioned how when he was at the Broncos Lions coach Leigh Matthews was on TV "every 5 minutes" talking up AFL, but Wayne just sits there like a big shot because "these old guys think they're bigger than the game"

as for the try, Wayne changed the focus when asked about it and talked about whether it was on the line or not. He did then kind of back down and trotted out the "players make mistakes, refs make mistakes too" chestnut

I actually thought Dean Young was the more arrogant one.

I love how they tried to hose Gaz's try down by saying that they got one off a forward pass and it evened out. I'm pretty sure Manly weren't really into the game at that point and the ref was not in a position to tell whether it was forward or flat unlike what the video ref had to work with.

Manly had every right to be given a try from a forward pass given how many Drag Queen forward passes are let go by the officials each and every week. There has to be 1 in every set of six, and most are never pulled up.

Forward passes being missed by onfield referees on the run is one thing, but Hollywood's error in awarding the Gaznier try was inexcusable, given he had time and access to the footage in order to make his decision and still managed to **** it up.

Personally, I believe the video reffing this year has been worse than the on field reffing performances, given what they have to work with to make their decisions.

I like bennett and I think he is within his rights not to talk to the media and provide rhetorical answers to some of their stupid questions. If you catch bennett on the radio after the game he seems more than willing to talk.
