So long as it's not Bill Harrigan - an arrogant farkwit who isn't half as good an official as what he thinks he is.
The NRL need to appoint someone who has the personality and temperament to deal with difficult situations without letting his ego get in the way. And Harrigan doesn't fit the bill. He's too full of his own self importance.
NCSupporting the RW&B, through good times and bad times.

Brett Finch has a big cry about daddy
http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/spo...-1225913569291
MELBOURNE five-eighth Brett Finch has launched a stinging attack on NRL boss David Gallop for failing to support his father, referees boss Robert, who he insists has "the hardest job in the game"
In an extraordinary broadside levelled at the game's leader, Finch told The Daily Telegraph: "Dad gets no support - and especially no support from David Gallop publicly. David Gallop doesn't support the referees one bit.
"If I were the referees, I'd say, 'Righto, you don't rate us. We're no good. Find yourselves some new refs.' It'd be interesting on the eve of the finals if they didn't have any refs. I bet they'd think they were pretty good then.
"He [Robert] has got the hardest job in the game. I think he does a great job ... [But] the referees get no support from David Gallop when they're criticised and hung out to dry and bashed."
The Wigan-bound Finch has played his last game in the NRL after hand and neck injuries yesterday ruled him out of the Storm's season-ending match against the Knights at AAMI Park.
The veteran playmaker's fury at the treatment of his father follows revelations in The Daily Telegraph this week that Robert will walk away from his job at the end of the season after attracting the majority of the criticism for the poor performance of match-day officials this year.
Gallop, who yesterday addressed Storm players for the first time since stripping them of their premierships for rorting the salary cap, expressed surprise when told of the remarks last night.
"Brett has been outspoken on a number of issues of late," he said. "His father is big enough to look after himself and I would expect him to ring me if he had any problems. I admire Brett's loyalty to his dad. He has a tough job."
Robert Finch is yet to formally resign but it has been speculated for weeks that he would step aside after eight years in the job following the October 3 grand final.
Either way, Brett steadfastly believes he should walk away.
"I haven't spoken to him but I hope he does step away from it," he said. "Because he gets no credit. And he works his arse off. The referees work their arses off.
"They get criticised, they get bagged. David Gallop doesn't support them one bit. I'd be happy if he got out of it because he doesn't need it."
Gallop dismissed the claims.
"We have handed out penalties on many occasions when there has been criticism of them," he said.
