There is another fundamental problem with McIntyre which is seedings. If results go to seeding, then week 2 games get messed up because they are the same games as week one.
Rather than highest placed loser playing lowest placed winner, they have to cross over. This means that Team 3 plays team 5 and team 4 plays team 6 - makes no sense at all as, based on regular season form, team 3 is playing a better team and not getting the benefit of the seeding.
