Raiderettes set to tame Tigers

The Raiders are not the only ones preparing to tame the Tigers in Friday night's home semi-final.
The slightly less burly version of the Raiders, the Raiderettes, have stepped up the intensity of their training routines after learning yesterday that the Tigers cheerleaders will be travelling to Canberra Stadium for a dance-off in front of the 27,500-strong home crowd.
Kait Ludwig, Raiderette head cheerleader, said the Raiderette training camp had been overcome with excitement upon hearing the news.
''We found out that this week we'll actually be dancing at the same time on the field as the Tigers girls,'' Ludwig said.
''So the excitement has really just taken over our training, we really want to impress the crowd and we really want to show Canberra that we're the best there.''
Most of the Raiderette girls have never danced in an NRL finals game, and with Canberra Stadium set to be filled to capacity, it will likely be a memorable experience for the squad.
Many may view the Raiderettes' performance as being of little consequence, but the girls will play a pivotal role in building the homeground atmosphere that has been critical to the team's recent success. The Raiders have not been defeated at Canberra Stadium since Round 17 on July 4, against the Roosters.
