  • 2011 Ladder Predictions

I know the weekends grandfinal defeat is still very painful to think about, but I would prefer to look forward to 2011 and hopefully another successful season as our young team continues to develop and hopefully learn some much needed composure over the off season.

    2011 Ladder Prediction

1.Tigers (very solid team now won't be knocked around at origin time)
2.Broncos (Hannant and Inglis big additions will be tough next year)
3.Roosters (would have had us top 2 if Carney,Pearce,Myles weren't in Origin)
4.Warriors (building nicely towards end of this year)
5.Dragons (will miss Costigan and Smith greatly)
6.Eagles (were very busted this year a good run with injuries be dangerous)
7.Raiders (would have been higher had Campese not been injured)
8.Storm (will still be very competitive but depth could be an issue)
9.Titans (solid team but getting older now)
10.Bunnies (haven't really added anything to propel them higher)
11.Panthers (struggled late this year could be a team on the slide)
12.Dogs (have some good buys but lack consistency)
13.Cowboys (will be better than this year but may implode)
14.Knights (very hit and miss team probably the one side had trouble fitting in)
15.Eels (very ordinary team have nothing if Hayne is not on fire)
16.Sharks (solid forward pack but ordinary backline)

Sharks will be nowhere near 16th in 2011 IMO...

I'd drop the Raiders and Manly for the Panthers and Bunnies (injuries killed them this year). Knights a chance with a couple of good signings. I think we will finish top 2 with Carney now fulltime 5/8. Would have this year if he started there. One or two games at origin time should be ok. Watts is ok at half and Anasta at 5/8. Depends who we play as well.

They seemed to be enjoying their footy a lot more with the new coach.

I think we might take out the minor premiership. It'll be tough, but had we played Carney at 6, mini at 1 and Anasta at 11 since day 1 this season, we probably WOULD have won the minor premiership, especially considering we have an identical side with new signings in J Carney & Watts.

I think the hard question is who will finish last.

I would say the Eels but who knows what a new coach will do. If Bennett goes to the Cowboys then they should improve.

              Good predictions Fletch.

I think the top eight will look much the same as this year. Auckland and Wests have real quality, Gold Coast and Merge will slide but still be close to the mark, Souths have a good side on paper and should qualify for the finals. Penrith were awful late in the year and look like sliding out of contention.

It will be interesting to see how Melbourne bounce back - they should at least make the finals with Smith, Slater and Cronk still there. Also, Brisbane and Parra have a lot to prove - it's anyone's guess how they'll go.

Canberra will battle without Campese. Manly still have a decent side on paper. Both these sides will be in the 7th-10th bracket.

Newcastle have a lot of ability and I think they will improve a lot. Canterbury will struggle again. So will North Qld and Cronulla.

As for the Roosters, who knows. I'd be happy with a top six finish.

The Eels always seem to have a poor attitude no matter who the coach is.

I don't think the Storm will make the 8 in 2011...

                  That dynasty has finished...

The Dogs will be back in 2011..

Yeah, even though they still have Slater, Cronk and Smith, there is still a lot of cleaning up to do. Don't be suprised if they fill the team with inexperienced reserve-graders.

Too early to call. Plenty of signings to go and coaches to be sacked...

The Bulldogs have recruited probably the strongest reckon they might sneak into the 8 with a bit of luck

Storm are the smokeys could do anything, still got some great players and recruited smartly

Sea Eagles are gone, they'll miss the 8 and comfortably.

                        1. Dragons ( If bennett is there still they should stay in 1st spot )
                        2. Roosters ( Keep the team the way it is with no injuries and wallah! )
                        3. Panthers ( very un predictable, if they can fire for most of the season, welll )
                        4. Broncos ( Good signings, they have no excuse with their current roster )
                        5. Titans ( Very consistent, they showed a bit of form this year )
                        6. Warriors ( dangerous team when in form )
                        7. Knights ( Good signings, great at the back end of 2010, if there is no controversy look out! )
                        8. Wests ( overrated team, overrated coach )
                        9. Bulldogs ( great signings )
                        10. Storm ( got better at the end of 2010 )
                        11. Sharks ( ^ )
                        12. Sea Eagles ( Not sure, very rocks and diamonds )
                        13. Souffs ( Shit halves, hopeless backline, Gun foward pack though )
                        14. Eels ( Average team, in experienced coach by the looks of it )
                        15. Raiders ( no campo for the majority of the season by the looks )
                        16. Cowboys ( Guna be a lot of controversy through the off season by the looks of it )

Depends whether the IC gets up and Finch gets sacked.......if it's NRL and Finch it's a Queensland club's turn to take the title out, so Broncos for me.

That was the only positive thing I could think of to console myself on Sun night.
Also, Melb to miss the 8, their pack has been decimated.
