Who would you like to see on the Board?

From a RWB perspective, i would like to see some of these guys get mentioned as candidates:
ex-players, administrators & astute businessman - John Quayle, Bernie Gurr,
    Kevin Junee & John Brass.

Yes, i know the commissioners are supposed to be truly independent to avoid bias but that in itself is questionable, when you consider former Saints centre & Qld SOO hero Mark Coyne has support to become the first ex-player on the commission. Several months ago the pollies were pushing for Mr Sheen (John Howard) to head the Commission who "coincidently" happens to be St George's no.1 ticket holder. Go figure!!!

John Quayle is my first choice. Then Ron Coote or Bernie Gurr.

I heard ex Dragon's player Mark Coyne mentioned to take the head position. Not really independent is it?

                    exactly

no way can they have former players

and not even anyone who actually follows a team, or used to follow a team

it would be best to have people who've never seen a game, and preferably never heard of the sport

That would count out around 90% of the Australian population I would have thought. And some of them would be bloody good administrators and businessmen.

And surely you'd need some knowledge of the game in order to run it successfully. Otherwise it would be the blind leading the blind, and it would take a hell of a long time to achieve anything.

                          indeed NC

I was highlighting the absurdity of claiming Mark Coyne was not "independent" because he's a former player, and John Howard not being "independent" because he supports a team

Having two people linked to the same club is questionable though.
