  • Are Aboriginal players an endangered species????

While watching the Toyota Cup I've come to the conclusion that Aboriginal players will become almost extinct with the size & influx of Islander players.

Personally I don't like this direction but unfortunately I don't see an alternative..

That's what made me think about it. I was also at my local game yesterday & there was a scheming little Aboriginal #7 & I thought that he'd be too small for the NRL.

No offence but the islanders that play footy are the dumbest most boring players to watch with the exception of a very few of them.

The koori lads are alot smarter .

          I disagree.

Take Sandow, a great off the cuff player, induvidual brilliance, but does not think 2-3 plays ahead like a good half should.

this is an old chestnut the big islander boys are running the little white boys out because "they are too ruff and big and scary"

Lets change the NRL to a boxing type set up, welterweight, bantamweight, heavyweight.......

In all seriousness, regardless of size, weight, muscle, if a player and the skill and attitude to play the game at the top grade, then that will show through.

Attitude and skill are what get you somewhere in Rugby league.

Big hits and size only get you to French RU !

Sandow is new and still very young. For a player as new as him he is doing wonders.

It is unfortunate but it is just the way rugby league and really any sport are these days. Coaches will firstly look at the biggest, strongest and quickest kids. If they have skill it's a bonus but they clearly just want the best athletes.

The best are not islanders. Look at the doggies, got rid of there old recruitment manager who was hooked on islanders and now they are a fierce team with a nice mix .Islander's are strong but they have no clue.

I think its a pity that so many big atheletic players have been signed and are being played just because they are big and quick.
We are not just talking Islanders but the one that survive are footballers not just big lumps

Andrew Walker was small and I rate him the most gifted player I have ever seen.

Timanah Tahu is part Aboriginal and part Islander from what ive heard.

I wonder where he lies in this thread.
