I don't know why you continue to use "us" and "we" when we all know you are not one of "us".

Mason even ****ed our salary cap this season.

we backended his contract, as they've done with Burgess

The practice should outlawed, but a combination of having clubs concentrating on the now rather than the future, as well as the belief that the salary cap will either be increased dramatically in the next few years (or not exist at all) makes it sound like a good idea right now

      that's one issue

the other is whether or not signing Inglis puts Souths over the cap.

maybe it does, but they're no more likely to be over the cap than we are, or a lot of clubs are, because there are ways around the cap and everyone wants to win

Do you think for a second that Politis wouldn't break the cap if he could get away with it?

John, you are utterly hopeless, and incapable of having a sensible discussion

call me Buzz or a "souffs" supporter when your pea-brain goes into overload

I have tried, but you're a very stupid fellow

I think Burgess was backended to $270K a season. A long way short of the $400K + the Roosters and the Tigers were told that bidding started.

I have no problem at all if clubs wish to backend contracts. The Mason situation compared to Inglis or Burgess are different. We signed Mason late in the season but before we signed him we released 3 players to other clubs. We also lost Tupou, Shillington and Roberts the following year.

Burgess over his 4 year deal is on 250k a year. Don't you think that is strange considering many club CEO's said that his manager was asking for 400k plus a transfer fee?

On Inglis if Souths release a few players to fit him in I wouldn't have any suspicions. But he has walked out on a 2 year million dollar deal, he wouldn't be walking out for less. Also along with his 500k salary there is a 130k legal fee. How anyone could afford a player like Inglis this late in the season is highly dubious. I mean Richardson said "we have no money" now they can afford a marquee player? Come on something is going on.

I agree with you 100%, most clubs would break the cap when they can. But over the last few years Souths have continually bought big names. They have done so when there has been a interest from many clubs yet they always get their man.

Also it would be interesting to see Souths gains and losses over the last 4 years. When the Bulldogs got done it was quite obvious on paper.

                  100% Fitzy.

For anyone to compare them to us or any other club when it comes to salary cap is a joke.

But this time I think they have bitten off more than they can chew.

There is now way they could be doing anything but busting the cap when the facts are stacked.

Inglis is too hot to handle but Souffs don't care.

but they have lost Colin Best

I'd love nothing more than for souths to be busted for cheating the cap, esp after they fail to make an impact come finals time

Souths claim his average is $262K a season

true - Roosters and Tigers both claimed initial talks with his management spoke about $400K +

                            I almost vomited.

                            And some facts:

When asked which of the Melbourne "Big 4" they would go after, Richardson said "Billy Slater would be the one that we'd chase, but we've got no money under the salary cap, so all we can do is window-shop at this stage.''

When he was asked why the club was going to let Luke Capewell go Richardson said ''We don't have any money left under the cap.''

Anyone that thinks Souffs were going into the new season with $500K spare on their cap is seriously deluded.

But this one could be their undoing.
It's seriously head in the sand kind of stuff, the NRL have the chance to be proactive here. Unlikely I know but we can hope, those comments at the least deserve investigation if this deal comes off.

Watched the story on him on Nine last and heard him say he "wants to be his own man".

Hes got too much Mundine in him and is being poisoned by that worthless sack of shit. Unfortunately tho, it runs in the blood.

Good luck to him but soufs aint the right way to go. **** soufs!

I'd say it will be a dodgy back-ended deal like Gaznier at ST SCUM.

Another role model for Lol Souffs. New sponsor Jenny Craig!!!

Has he been booked in for a boxing gig yet? I hear Butterbean is available.

The first hospital pass from Lol Sandow will be priceless!

So the phone-chucker is anti cheque-book eh, fark u Rusty, fark u Souffs.

                                Crikey.
