Dont ever recall (correct me if wrong) the Roosters enticing someone away from a handshake deal.

Souffs have become what they have always claimed to hate... if not worse. Ahhh... the hypocrisy!

And what's perfect is that any RL supporter with a couple of brain cells knows that this.

The whole we stopped jim going to union/afl thing... IMO if they want to go to union then fine. If they are not happy making 300k+ playing league and are bored of league then I don't want them to sit around whinging. Is keeping whingers like SBW in league really essential? People say they won't be replaced, but they inevitably are... SBW was just a big **** who did big hits... easily replaced by any big islander who has a bit of speed and can offload. Preferably one who doesn't carry on so much, shuts his gob and plays good footy consistently...

Glycemic Index could be replaced for less than 1/4 the price by hitting up the block, getting some local boys off the meffo and convincing them to turn up to training each week. Souffs have this golden opportunity but haven't used it.

People come and go between all 3 codes. Personally I watch all 3 (league is the best but there isn't always a game on.) It's up to the players as professionals to decide where they want to be. I just don't wanna see them crawling back into open arms. Why does the NRL always do this???
      - Big Dell came back as a cleanskin after being shit at union and getting a career ending ban for using cocaine. He is now seen as a league expert, not a crack head who dogged the NRL for more money.
      - Lote... is straight back into the Kangaroos squad ahead of young talent. Union sacked him because he has lost his speed, and wasn't ranked as one of union's top 5 wingers. Who knows what the other reason that the ****s can't tell us is? I refuse to speculate, but again... a bum who dogged league, got shat on by union and came back into open arms instead of being told "mate you chose a multi million dollar contract with Rugby over a promising rep career in league... I'm sorry to hear it didn't work out, now go fark yourself..."
      - Tahu... a guy who flatly denied being in any negotiations with the ARU pissed off to rugby and played mostly for Australia A. He was exposed by Italy for his inability to defend 1-on-1 so got dropped by the Wallabies. When the Wallabies said "mate you have done nothing for us and we are going to have to reduce your benefits until you start performing" guess who offered him a lifeline and a place in the extended Kangaroos squad after an uneventful NRL season... the NRL.

IMO the best way to retain quality players while flushing out the whingers is to say:

"Great... go play Yawnion, it's a shit game and you will quit after 2 years, but hey... I see money is so important to you. Be warned though... you will never play for the Kangaroos, NSW or QLD again. In addition we will fine you a million bucks of your Yawnion earnings, and you'll need to play at least a season of grassroots footy before we are going to let you sign an NRL contract."
Brilliant post, well thought out and great logic
P.S I'm a sports tragic, so I'll go up to the pub later tonight and watch the Wobblies v Eng

Come live up in Brissy for 10 years, and see how much you love the donkeys.
If you had red white and blue coursing through your veins then you would know that the Broncos are inconsquential when it comes to Souths - just like every other club.

The fact that you have chosen to live in that redneck wonderland makes no difference.

The fact that you cant get anyone to hold your shitty banner, and you keep telling everyone that you were a past sponser shows, that you live in the past. As I have said in the PAST.

Old timers, are exactly that. Getting old. Our history rules, but well no time for you cronies, we are all about the future.

I will hold the banner. But I woudn't sit with that rabble.

I would hope the Broncos beat them 487-0.. I am use to the Bronco's winning.. We would never hear the end of it if Souths won again.

This to me looks like the hallmark of a team run by the owner not the coach. Inglis is an incredibly talented player but their squad looks completely out of balance to me. The key players in a league team at the moment are 9, 7, 6, and 1. Unless Inglis plays fullback (which at this stage is just a theory as he has no track record there) the only piece souths have in place is Luke at 9.

It took Parra for ever to recover from paying $400k contracts to Vella, Hindmarsh and Cayless and kept them from being able to afford the halves to consistently win games. I think Souths will learn the same lesson.

I tip Souths to miss the 8 again.

Stands to reason, considering their owner is unbalanced !

Im sure Inglis played a reasonable ammount of fullback..he was awesome what I rememebr..always wanted him here to take minis place.

As for souths v broncos..i hate htem evenly..would rather he went to the eels or tigers..a rugby league heartland team...great for the game with the west syd afl thingy.

Saw Inglis down at the Icebergs with Crocker on Saturday arvo. Anyone that can afford to drink where I go is surely not being paid too much....

He's played a lot of fullback, just not recently because of Slater. He scored some amazing tries from fullback for Brisbane Norths and played some fullback for the Storm when he first burst on to the scene. There was some conjecture over who would be moved to the centres between him and Slater, thats how good he was at the back. If he gets fit and gets the fire back in the belly, he will add a heap to Souths from the back.
